Would there be any interest in a DU polyamory group?
There is, after all, a GLBT forum, and we polys face some of the very same kinds of issues. We would, of course have to be scrupulous about keeping it clean, and only concerned with topics about the poly lifestyle.

Anyone interested?

Ahem:

Quote
Polyamory (from Greek πολύ [poly, meaning many or several] and Latin amor [literally “love”]) is the desire, practice, or acceptance of having more than one loving, intimate relationship at a time with the full knowledge and consent of everyone involved. The term polyamory is sometimes abbreviated to poly, and is sometimes described as consensual, ethical, or responsible non-monogamy. The word is sometimes used more broadly to refer to any sexual or romantic relationships that are not sexually exclusive, though there is disagreement on how broadly it applies.

Because we all so how super that worked out for the DU lounge crowd, dint we?  :-)

3. Interesting. I was surprised that one didn't already exist.
 Maybe it will soon.

8. I have never met a self-described poly who was not actually

an immature person with enormous commitment issues, and who did not abandon their "lifestyle" after treating unrelated mental-health issues.

n=5. Maybe that's just a statistical aberration, but right now I think it's more comparable to hikikomori than it is to being GLBT.

10. Yeah, the same was said about homosexuals in the recent past
If one does not desire or need poly then they are not required to engage.

13. I doubt it, given that there isn't a BDSM group either

15. A BDSM group would be extremely narrow in its scope.
On the other hand, a poly group could discuss legal and social issues surrounding poly families.

Your answer suggests a lack of knowledge and/or tolerance on your part.
Hey Fellah!  Don't go lumping people who want to carry on simultanious loving sexual relationships with multiple partners into your pervert club!

They're working their way to a bestiality group, and then the "pedo" group.  :mental:

arbusto_baboso is not going to get any traction on this very slippery slope. It'll be fun to watch the DUmmies scatter like roaches over it though.

Does anyone else think maybe that thread is making fun of the GBLT (Greasy Bacon Lettuce & Tomato) crowd?

Now that you mention it, no.  The DUmmies are warped enough to be serious about this.  Then take into consideration that for this to be any type of humor on their part is just ridiculous.

I'm sure that a DU poly group would allow a DUmmie who can't find any "partners" as long as said DUmmie was ambidextrous.

I must be more naive than I thought! Thanks for posting the definition, I kinda guessed from the word's composition, but can honestly say I have never heard of this. I really think there are some there who participate in sadism, beasteality, pedophilia, etc. They just scream it, from some of their posts. I wonder if the chick who got arrested recently for having, um, relations with Toby the beagle is a poster at DU? Well, maybe not, on second thought, she is pretty young, and it seems most DUmmies are middle agers or beyond. Too bad, I think she would fit right in. I have a question, you guys talk about some of the DUmmies' looks, how do you know what they look like?
There is no virtue in compulsory government charity, and there is no virtue in advocating it. A politician who portrays himself as caring and sensitive because he wants to expand the government's charitable programs is merely saying that he is willing to do good with other people's money. Well, who isn't? And a voter who takes pride in supporting such programs is telling us that he will do good with his own money— if a gun is held to his head.
