a few days after we canceled Vonage i suffered a catastrophic injury, i spent the next year and a half in repeated surgeries, torturous therapy... it all ended in an amputation of my hand...

off and on i was attempting to cancel their service and thought i had several times.. to make a long story short.. i finally got them to refund the money for a year and a half, them later i get a call from a collection agency for unpaid $32..apparently the closing fee.. and they owed me over $300. so i start it all over again 1/2+ hour, they say i can take $189 in 5 minutes or maybe get nothing.. i told him that was Extortion..

seems Cable phone service didn't call them.. but i went down there 5 times telling them to, they told me they called vonage who said i had to call them, i did.. they said if i canceled i lost my number.. went back to cable etc etc.. then i had a skin graft that left me crippled for 2 months.. and it messed up my arm, months of therapy on that and another surgery..that has totally ruined my health, wife had hip replacement, gall bladder surgery.. wife is losing her job this friday, we are foreclosing on the house.. severe depression, PTSD flashbacks, nightmares..

vonage got forgotten..

so.. am i screwed..? can they arbitrarily not pay me.. cause i didn't go belly up like a frightened puppy?

i am finally back to work, but it is an Airline based industry.. and i might soon be living in their parking lot.

i am being released soon by the doctor and i will try to sue the maker of the malfunctioning tool that messed up my hand.. i have no idea how to get a lawyer that wont screw me like the last 2. i was trying to see if i could get access to my union's attorney list, but i have never received a reply, my union rep at work said he would try, ..nothing yet. my depression is getting debilitating, work saves my sanity.

I talked to one person that was obviously using some kind of VOIP.  She must have been downloading porn or watching YouTube, because the audio quality was awful.

Jesus, get a grip Sam (well, a one-handed grip anyway).  You claim to have all that cataclysmic shit going on and your biggest worry is about a difference of a hundred bucks on a disputed refund?  Call the frickin'

A malfunctioning tool caused a horrific accident yet DUmmie has gone through 2 lawyers?  Something doesn't seem right there.  How many think DUmmie caused the accident through some sort of horseplay or .... misuse of the tool in some way?

Come on ... lawyers live for this kind of thing.  DAT .... what say you?

Sam, the ADA says "reasonable" accomodation.  So that job as peanut picker in the sewage plant is pretty much out for you, sad to say.

Maybe you could try your hand at piano playing in the local whorehouse?  You'll get to see your wife and daughters a lot more often that way.

There have been no replies and no recommendations.  Seriously, what can anybody say?  This reminds me of Angry Carpenter, who pours out his world of hurt, then when someone makes a suggestion, he shoots it down with an excuse. 
You just know there's more to this story.  A work-related injury in a union shop.....that's a Mainer's wet dream.  Sittin' pretty, Ayuh.

ROFL...the biggest wait in the world is a NH border town grocery store parking lot, the first Saturday of every month, with everyone in Maine plates and "temporary" handicapped placards waiting for the spots to open up. 

Market Basket in Rochester this Saturday.  Count 'em up.  99 out of every 100 cars will bear Maine plates.  No lie.

i am a technical/mechanical savant, 164 IQ with a 5th grade literacy. i was dependant on both hands for my livelihood.

I suspect his recovery is limited because it was a either a Worker's Comp injury or the "Tool" was some ancient worn-out and monkeyed-with piece of crap made by a company that's been out of business for a decade or more - maybe even homemade from old Cheetos wrappers, pizza boxes, and a box fan motor.

Ok, so dumbass is working at home but has well over genius IQ when it comes to working with tools .... IT'S OWN TOOL that it has owned for God only knows how long.  It cuts its hand off with its own tool due to a design flaw that trips the safety trigger and genuis doesn't know about the flaw ...... hmmmm

No wonder it has gone through 2 lawyers.  Why waste your time.
