I picked up my wife’s blood thinner script this morning. I swear the dude never left haight - ashbury. He’s just a sweet gentle human.

2. It was a guy like that who helped get me turned around politically.
I was in college (back during the Bush Sr. era) and a real Reagan-worshipper, real right-wing, flag-waving, rah-rah "America #1! type.
I know, right?
I had a guy in one of my classes, his name was Michael, and he was a really laid-back kind of guy, no sweat, can't complain hippie left over from the Sixties.
He and I used to meet up after class and go for a walk around the lake behind the main campus and just talk about life. We hardly ever, IIRC, discussed politics. But his liberal sensibilities rubbed off on me, and I began to drift back to the progressive views my parents had inculcated in me.
I owe him a lot.

10. I knew a guy who was a long time health food store employee.
He was my guru when it came to alternative health information and he was so helpful and informative. Imagine my surprise when I once saw him walking down the street - smoking away!

13. Those guys are long dead.....
I tease with my pharmacists that I used to be one of them. When they query me further I tell them that I was a freelance pharmacist in the 1960s.
the '60s' is 60 years ago...
