Show Me the Money

While you're off at the home center trying to find the most affordable DIY projects, there are people out there who are off in another world. For them, the bank account is bottomless; money is meant to be seen, not saved; and the recession doesn't exist. Here's a peek at what people with no credit limits put in their houses.

$100,000 for some cabinets that look like they were made in somebody's garage?  No thanks.  :o

Hell, I cook with all three with my $400 gas grill........ (although I don't USUALLY use charcoal, but I can/ have)

Kalamazoo 900 Series Free Standing Hybrid Grill with Side Burner
$15,895

With 144,000 BTUs—as much power as a furnace to heat a 4,000-square-foot house in Maine—this is the kind of thing that your barbecue buddies will both appreciate, and hate you for having. The 900 Series allows you to cook with charcoal, wood, and gas all at the same time. There’s also a side burner, and a warming rack. But don’t be surprised if you find yourself polishing its stainless steel frame as if it were a Ferrari. kalmazoogourmet.com

I'll stick with my $40 charcoal grill for right now.

Once I'm not poor, hopefully I can upgrade to a nice gas one. But not for 16 grand. Unless it looked like this:

Just got done putting 500 sq. ft. of Australian Cypress hardwood down in our living room and hallway. It more or less matches the hardwood that's already there in the kitchen, dining room, and foyer.

That cypress set us back about $7 per sq. ft. That pales in comparison to that Macassar ebony wood that goes for $150 per sq. ft.

Aaaaack!  :p

Good God. $5,500 for a toilet.

I'd have to buy a house first. With the big back yard, giant deck and nice pool set up.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. Nope, but I will have to check it out.

It's changed to The Cooking Channel on June 1st. I don't know what will happen to those shows unless HGTV, DIY, or Style show them.

There were outdoor kitchens, backyards, houses, bathrooms, indoor kitchens. They were all either the Top 10 or Top 15 Bodacious Whatevers. Just incredible. Might be able to find them on HULU or somewhere online.

I WAS wanting to do something like this at the last house I lived in. However, the bottom dropped out of the real estate market, so that set everything back. I don't live in that house any more, so it's a non-issue now. Ahhhh.......... the hopes and dreams dashed against the wall.

Yeah, that new Cooking Channel is kinda cool. Old, syndicated programs like Julia Childs and "The Galloping Gourmet" with Graham Kerr.

Sorta wondering when "The Frugal Chef" will come around...... :evillaugh:

I always like watching the Galloping Gourmet....Graham Kerr was a hoot, but he was half sloshed, too. He's been sober for years, and not near as funny.

Yeah, okay, Gourmet it is.

Jeff Smith croaked in 2004, but not before he was accused of sexually harassing some of his male assistants. I can see that show now:

Jeff: "Oh, it's time to make some hard ball candy."

Sascha: "Sounds like a plan! How can I help?"

Jeff: "Well, you can hand me that...never mind, I'll just reach over and get it myself".... GROPE...."oh, my! Maybe we shouldn't do hard ball candy after all! Maybe we should do up a batch of kielbasa!"
