1963 AMC Rambler 770 (yes, I bought it from an old lady)
1979 Dodge Omni 024 (nickle and dimed me to death, but was still running when it was sold in 1990)
1975 Pontiac Grand Prix (loved that land yacht)
1984 Camaro Z28
1991 Mustang GT (cried when that one went away)
1993 F-150 Extended Cab with the 5.8 (cried when the ex got that one repossessed)
1994 Ford Tempo (replaced the truck, ex got it repossessed the next year while I was deployed)
1981 Ford Escort SW (second car that I drove)
1984 Mercury Grand Marquis (two repossessions in two years will put a bit of a crimp in your credit score)
1966 Chevelle (small block monster, would outrun almost anything, windshield leaked like a sieve)
1991 Lincoln Continental
1996 Dodge 2500 Conversion Van
1994 Ford Escort Wagon
2002 Avalanche (would still be in my driveway if dickhead son hadn't totaled it in 2012)
2005 Subaru Baja Turbo (fast little car)
1996 Suburban (6.5 turbo diesel, stolen while in Philly)
2007 Silverado 3500HD Crew Cab
1999 Jaguar XJR (fastest car I have ever owned, killed this past October by a tree branch)
2004 Saturn Vue (with the 3.5 V6, fast but rides like a bull in the ring)
I don't think I have ever seen ANYONE with a list that long.
For me:
1968 Plymouth Satellite (My forever love but don't tell my wife) Painted "Dionysus" on her back panel.
1969 Buick Wildcat with the big engine.
1971 Datsun PL 620 truck -- a sweetheart that I put a camper on. Dual points that I gapped with a dime on the fly (warped camshaft) until I replaced the distributor with an electronic one.
1983 "Mustang" - blew chunks
1990 Eagle -- Black with the sweep fin. Beautiful and I cried real tears when she was destroyed in a rear-ender. In fact, when I looked up the model I cried again.
2002 Eclipse -- I have her to this day. Only 21K miles which freaks out my mechanic. I travel a lot and don't put a lot of miles on her.
2007 MR2 Spyder: What a honey. It could do a U-turn inside a lane. But you didn't get in it -- you put it on. Eventually the groans of Mrs. FD and I were louder than the engine. Poor man's Porsche and she could zip like no one's business. It didn't hurt to let her go but she will always be that main squeeze from our youth.
That covers all the vehicles of my life. I loved 5 of them and still have one of them. I think all you guys know what I am talking about. We fall in love with them, pamper them but eventually we have to let then go. Thank God I have my latest one. I think I can get 30 years our of her.
