A buddy of mine just moved to Silver Springs, MD, from here.  She posted a pic of 4.69 regular at an Exxon, and said it was over 5.00 in DC.  How can it be that we aren't hearing about that somewhere???

Heating oil at $3.80/gal here, and I don't know if I can afford to fill the tank at the end of the season...and I don't know if I can afford NOT to fill the tank at the end of the season.

FML.  About the only good thing I can say is that this winter was so mild we may get away with using "only" 400 or so gallons.  God help us when heating oil pushes $5/gal and we have a ball-shrinking cold winter (think -20 and the like.)

Have you looked into supplementing heating? like pellets or a wood stove? It seems when heating oil goes up, all the other heating options go up too.

$4.13 (for premium) at my favorite fill up station this morning.  I'll need gas by the end of next week.  I'm thinking the price will be around $4.22 a gallon by then.

They don't care.  I am very thankful I live eight miles from work.  The thing that's really hurting us is our grocery budget again.  The coupons just aren't good anymore.  The sales ads are so-so, but there are no good coupons for match ups.  Every time we get groceries, the bill inches up more & more.  It really sucks.  And I know it's going to get worse as the diesel prices climb.

That and obeying a court decision to allow drilling in the Gulf surely would have a physiological effect and prices would go down.
