Obama is going to tap the stetegic oil reserves....typical democrat move just before getting run out of office. Carter did it, Clinton did it, now it's Obama's turn.
I think that around August-October, Obama will start doing things like okaying drilling permits and maybe even the Keystone pipeline.
Still be too late. By that time the price won't have come down much, and people remembering how their vacations or other plans were ruined by $4.50-5.00/gal gas is still going to be fresh in their minds.
Heating oil at $3.80/gal here, and I don't know if I can afford to fill the tank at the end of the season...and I don't know if I can afford NOT to fill the tank at the end of the season.FML. About the only good thing I can say is that this winter was so mild we may get away with using "only" 400 or so gallons. God help us when heating oil pushes $5/gal and we have a ball-shrinking cold winter (think -20 and the like.)
How do they expect people to live, get around, feed their familes etc???
They don't care. I am very thankful I live eight miles from work. The thing that's really hurting us is our grocery budget again. The coupons just aren't good anymore. The sales ads are so-so, but there are no good coupons for match ups. Every time we get groceries, the bill inches up more & more. It really sucks. And I know it's going to get worse as the diesel prices climb.
Fox News is reporting that Reuters has said that the US and Britain have reached an agreement to release oil from their Strategic Oil Reserves. However, Fox later reported that the White House is denying the report.
Obama claims there is no "silver bullet" to lowering gas prices. Can he explain why oil prices immediately dropped when Reuters first broke their story?
TPOUS Obama, the gift that keeps on gettin it wrong. Let see there is no silver bullet but he is releasing oil as a silver bullet. This is 3D Chess at its best. And for my sighting of signs today:Diesel today Maine $4.43 NH $4.15 Heating oil NH $3.65 (I had to take a run over to Maine today)
3 democrats challenged a republican to a chess game. The democrats took the first move. Then the republican made his first move and the democrats in unison jumped up and began to protest. They called the Republican a cheater and said the game was unfair. They demanded rule changes to "level the playing field". When the democrats were asked exactly what their complaint with the republican player was, they explained, "He actually knows how to play the game."
Heh...That's good stuff. Do you think that if he just made a false threat to approve Keystone it would move the needle.
