Just set aside our political, philosophical, etc etc differences..

Just looking at the temperament of Democratic and Republican voters and politicans

Democrats are more social,.. they have a higher trust factor in their fellow Democrat's. We gather as groups to try and find ways to help others who are not faring as well.. We like being together..

Republicans fear the "other" and always worry about someone else getting ahead and getting something they do not have.. they embrace weaponry to fight off the "other"

There is an absolute difference in how we look at life, at our fellow humans, at our abilities to make things better.
You know, I could have sworn that it's the Ds who are the ones who are so afraid that someone else will get something someone else has that they want to TAKE our $$$ and our stuff to enrich themselves and their favored groups.

Republicans are also angrier. They seem to need to find reasons to be pissed off.

Back when Conservstive Underground was around (I snooped now and then), it was all about anger at Democrats. Here at DU we talk about stuff other than politics, including science, humor, and animals.
Um, no, like the Cave, CU was mostly about laughing at Democrats, particularly DUpipo.

Leftists fight amongst each other ALL THE TIME, since they include so many groups that are rigidly opposed to each other. Radical gays vs. Radical muslims, feminists vs. Transgenders, radical environmentalists vs. Labor unions in industries the environmentalists hate such as mining and logging, and so on.
Hell, just look at how many DU threads devolve into furious infighting, often for extremely petty reasons.

IMO, DUmmies exemplify what a Dem True-Believer is. Who was the most recent R President whose grave DUmmies didn't :jerkit: about urinating or crapping on? Eisenhower? Hoover? Coolidge? Taft? The most recent might be Taft, since DUmmies probably would :jerkit: about pissing/crapping on Harding's grave.

Don't get me started on temperament.

At their worst, democrats are vindictive, incorrigibly self-righteous, megalomaniacal, flagrantly hypocritical, and insular. Nothing 'social' about that.

Democrats are less than functional as individuals, mostly.  They seek strength in numbers because of it. They gather in groups to confront their opponents, because they can not one on one. They FEAR being alone.

Democrats fear the 'other' just as bad as anyone else, with 'other' being defined as those with whom they disagree politically. Democrats always worry when others are through capability, able to do or achieve things that they themselves can not.
