Lots of discussion out there about Manchin and how he, and his supposed ally Sinema, are the be-all, end-all, of the Dem party.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Manchin is, and always has been, a snake. He cannot be trusted and he is no ally to the average American.
Reportedly, Manchin is cashing in his chips with the idea of raising taxes AND spending more (as is the classic Dem procedure, though the Repubs are JUST AS EVIL with this idea).

The revived version of Biden's BBB legislation is being taken seriously again only due to a significant two-pronged flip-flop by Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV). Despite previous statements from Manchin that he would oppose more federal spending amid high inflation and that a recession meant taxes shouldn't be increased, Manchin and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) reached a deal on legislation that would do both.

West Virginians, it's you and your perceived 'pressure' that the GOP has been supporting. Not your Senator.

Yup.
