In celebration of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's 50th anniversary, a 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air was crashed into a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu.
According to safety engineers at the scene, the driver of the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu would likely have suffered slight knee injury. The driver of the 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air would have died instantly.

Here is the car that was destroyed... I'm not a huge fan of 50's Chevrolets, but that's a damn shame.

According to this article, (http://www.examiner.com/x-10974-Kansas-City-Automotive-Examiner~y2009m9d11-1959-Chevrolet-Bel-Air-vs-2009-Chevy-Malibu--IIHS-crash-test-as-seen-on-ABCs-Good-Morning-America) there is less than a 200-lb. weight difference between the two.
