Buying a smoked Boston Butt from the Boy Scouts tomorrow to cut up as bbq for monday. The meat is amazingly good. Do you have any additives to the meat after cutting it up that would make my bbq more amazing?
Bean recipe? I am sooooooo ready for a good ole bbq!

Oh that sounds soooo good!
My favorite BBQ spice is McCormick's Grillmates for pork.

I going to do some pork spare ribs with a dry rub/mop of Q' sauce.
This rub is excellent: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/saras-secrets/bubbas-bunch-barbecued-baby-back-ribs-recipe/index.html

For a side dish, I dropped this one into Edibles.
BLT Pasta Salad
1 16oz box of tri-colored pasta
1 cup Mayo
2 Tablespoons white or cider vinegar
3 green onions diced
2 or 3 tomatoes (depend on size) diced
8 slices of bacon cooked chopped.
Salt and pepper to taste
Mix Mayo and vinegar together pour over cooked pasta add the rest and refrigerate.
Someone brought it to an office lunch, and it was gone in a flash.

The Kroger here sells something similar at the deli. They call it tomato salad and use little cherry tomatoes.
It's so good.

Baked beans.
Saute chopped onion with slivered bacon.
Add some cans of VanCamp pork n beans. (I drain them)
Add brown sugar, ketchup, worchestershire sauce, a squirt or two of spicy mustard. Taste to make sure it has enough of everything. I use about a quarter cup of sugar per mid-sized can.
Dump into a covered casserole dish and bake for about an hour.
I don't like beans, but I've made them this way for 40 years, (OMG!!!! :o :bawl: ) and people always say how good they are.

I prefer black beans. My recipe is in the food forum.

Hmmm, a North Carolina style BBQ sauce could be a good addition while the meat is sitting in the warming device. (crockpot/ oven tray, etc.) Then, have some good KC style BBQ sauce on hand for when the make sandwiches. It's also very common to put coleslaw on top of the meat when people make their sandwiches.

Oh my God, that's the best, isn't it? I haven't made that in awhile. I was famous for my coleslaw in CT. Here's all I do:
quarter cup vinegar
1 TBP sugar
1 tsp salt
pepper
half cup mayo, maybe a bit more
some poppyseeds
Whisk all that together, add a bag of shredded cabbage, fold together, refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

I had a bbq brisket taco that came with cole slaw and guacamole. It was good.
Chik-Fil-A chicken sandwich and cole slaw is delicious.
