Herman Cain died from it, as did a few minor celebrities, but no really famous, powerful people have died of it. Even 87-year-old Chuck Grassley is reportedly asymptomatic.

Most people who get the virus survive it, but the odds would seem to suggest that at least a handful of famous people who have gotten it (and quite a few of them have at this point) would succumb to it and so far that hasn’t happened.

Yeah, I guess I’m turning into a bit of a conspiracy theorist in regards to this. Some of these people haven’t seemed like they’re in the greatest health either. It’s just...odd.

Uhm, because it’s less deadly than the flu?  Wake up!  You’re being played!

A virus "programmed" to kill off the poor and leave "the rich" undefiled.

That virus is called the Democratic Party!

Because the death rate is in the 1 out of 1,000 ballpark, nutsucker.  As SVPete points out, of course, some public personalities have indeed died, just not any that came to your mind.

"Most people who get the virus survive it,"
Understatement of the eon.
In the US, the current number of COVID deaths is about 254K, compared to the number of current known infections, which is about 12 million. That's only about 2% of the infected, and it doesn't even take into account that the fatality rate is even lower for people under 65 years of age and/ or without any pre- existing medical conditions.

To be bluntly honest, I've been disappointed the China virus appears to have killed no primitives, damn it.

After seeing pics of how they live, their immune systems must be through the roof.

The questions that pop in the heads of these immature individuals often fascinates me.

Alongside the :rotf: factor in this comment, there does seem to be some reality to it as well. Consider:

* Many homeless people live in incredibly unsanitary and even filthy circumstances, and we haven't heard stories of the 'Vid slaughtering the homeless; with an R President such stories would be front page news were it happening;

* Between relatively recent (= years, not decades) vaccinations for various diseases and mutually exposing each other to all kinds of (mostly merely annoying) viruses, children are proving remarkably resistant (or even sort of immune) to SARS-Cov-2; https://www.upi.com/Health_News/2020/11/20/MMR-vaccine-may-protect-against-severe-illness-from-COVID-19-study-finds/7641605890132/ .

So maybe DU's Urban Chicken Farmer is resistant/immune.

Maybe because the rich people don't have heroin surging through their veins?
