Does it really matter? All that we should be worried about is that it happens.
Well, in a way it does, because Skins's island is a Mother Lode of psychological material re: Hate.
There's more Hate on Skins's island than anywhere else on the internet.
Now, as to the dork, he's an especially fascinating study in Hate.
The dork is his family historian apparently, and has posted all over the internet photographs, new and old, of his family, past and present. It's fascinating.
The dork apparently comes from a long line of pleasant, even good-looking, people, not a bad one in the bunch.
Excepting for the dork, who's the textbook definition of Ugly.
Now, either all the Ugly genes in his family tree bypassed everyone else and concentrated themselves into the dork, or the dork was accidentally switched at birth or adopted, or the dork Uglified himself with his Hate.
Hate Uglifies; one sees it in nadin, for example. If nadin weren't such a Hate-filled primitive, arrogant, domineering, loud, pompous ass, if one were looking at a photograph of nadin, one would "see" her differently from how one sees her now; Ugly.
If nadin were of humble and mellow temperament, she'd almost approach "nice-looking."
But as it is, because nadin's the way she is, she's clear over on another planet well into the galaxy of Ugly.
Ditto for the dork.
And so one embarks--I've embarked, I dunno if anyone else has--on a mission to find out; is the dork so Ugly because he got all the bad genes, or because he's not naturally in his family, or because his Hate overpowers and eclipses out anything aesthetic one can possibly see in him?
