yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery - today is a gift- that's why it's called the "present"

I am not a big football fan. I only watch when there's nothing else on...been that way all my life. I was raised on a farm and my daddy never let me have time to play sports so....

Well, I don't remember the year but George B. was 42 years old. My Wife's daddy watched several sports at the same time...you know...click, golf...click, football ...click something else. I'd sit with him and watch TV sports to make him happy while he drove me crazy. 3 or 4 weeks in a row with his team down and only a couple of minutes to go, George B. came in to replace an injured quarterback. The cool headed old pro settled his team down while at the same time pumping them up. He pulled a win out every week for 4 weeks in a row I think it was. I still didn't care much for football but I developed a great respect for the old man George Blanda.

...and I did enjoy watching those few games.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
