Quote
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – There will soon be more focus on flushes and scrutiny over showers with a new law signed in by the governor.

California is now the first state in the nation to enact tough new water-efficiency standards. The controversial rules limit how many gallons a person can use inside their home per day.

“So that everyone in California is at least integrating efficiency into our preparations for climate change,” said Felicia Marcus, Chair of the State Water Resources Control Board.

So, what are the new rules?

In 2022, the new indoor water standard will be 55 gallons per person, per day. by 2030, it will fall to 50 gallons.

“With a child and every day having to wash clothes, that’s, just my opinion, not feasible. But I get it and I understand that we’re trying to preserve…but 55 gallons a day?” said Tanya Allen, who has a 4-year-old daughter.

So.....are undocumented aliens in California who don't know English or understand anything else about us and this place, going to get a "pass" on observing these limits?

I'll bet they do, and being unfamiliar with things, they're not likely to be well-acquainted with better (or legal), more-efficient, ways of living.

Ignorant people are probably the biggest wasters of water around, just as the workers and peasants in the socialist paradises were about natural gas.

But I guess as long as "other people" are paying for it.....

And the unintended consequence of pushing this is the skyrocketing of water prices due to low water usage and a city utility unwilling to make the necessary cuts in overhead to accommodate. I’ve seen it happen in real life.

I wanna see California Peggy or gated-community kpete or the long-ago banned Skippy, the NYC_SKP primitive, abide by the rules, this limit.

I'll bet they don't.  I'll bet not even cousin nadin will.

Most likely, yes.  There are 2 sets of rules in california.  Those who are legal citizens must follow all laws to the letter, those who are here ilegally, not so much.

Thank you, sir.  I thought that might be the case.

By the time the new regulations kick in at least half the residents will be homeless. That means less bathing, less laundry and they will defacate in the street. So there will be tremendous water savings.

We had a couple summers of mild drought with some moderate water usage restrictions. The city lost money through the water/sewage department. Net result was water bills more than tripled afterward and they never went down.

Thats one data point.

Here's a second:

http://www.poseidonwater.com/huntington-beach-desalination-plant.html

They are building a desalination plant in Huntington Beach, about 50 miles south of downtown Los Angeles.

At first I thought this was a Democrat pay back to a big donor.

But..

Those houses you see in the background of the plant picture, yea, they sell for a million dollars. Huntington Beach and NewPort Beach , the next city south are big elite enclaves.

So the elites are prepping and securing their water. Using tax payer monies. Nothing to see here.

What could they know that we don't?

Those poor illegals are going to suffer. But, wait they come from an environment of bad water and shortages.
The people who will suffer the most will be those who have had plenty of cheap clean water all their lives. The ones who have no idea what to do.

Yes, the Democratic party is going to poison the African American community.

Na,  that's crazy talk.

I despise terms such as "not so much."  The proper term is "completely."

I watch a lot of cooking shows.  The judges always use terms such as "you were a little short of salt."

No -- the contestant undersalted significantly.

"A bit," "not so much" and other equivocations are for children who cannot speak properly.

The water district I ran for about 4 years had some board members who wanted to raise the water rates to ‘encourage’ people to conserve. Not that we needed to because we used about 20% of the water the district purchased every year by contract. These were just people who wanted their name stamped on something official for some reason.

Anyway, we basically had to do a study for them showing what happens when you do that. People start conserving to the point you can’t sustain your utility so ... you’re forced to increase prices again. It’s a horrible cycle.

I had a guy that used to come into my office weekly and ask when we were going to go on water restrictions due to the severe drought we were in. I told him the same thing every time; “no need to conserve because we buy so much from the lake authority we can’t use it all.”  I finally had to call the lake authority and ask them. The answer?  Our lake would have to drop 15’ before we would be on a conservation schedule. The reality?  It’s a constant level lake and doesn’t fluctuate more than 3’ up or down.

I used to live in kalifornia.  If I still lived there I would flush and piss away as much water as possible just to screw with the system.  Then defy them to do something about it.  I 100% guarantee that, even if I am NOT a lawyer, I can defeat The State in court.  I have NEVER lost in court (small claims, divorce, against my HOA and numerous others).

I am just knowledgeable enough yet stupid enough to know the legal system and not know what I cannot do.

Any state AG's nightmare.
