Title: Recovering from knee surgery and need an old series to watch..recommendations?
Post by: TrueDat on January 17, 2014, 09:46:50 AM
I'm bored, bored, bored and am looking for suggestions to get me through all the down time for total knee replacement.  On day 9 and am off enough painkillers to concentrate on tv -- any good tv series on netflix or amazon prime that I may have missed the first time around?

Breaking Bad or Walking Dead.

Arrested Development is good but I don't know how much is available on Netflix.

If you a nerd, like I am, all the Star Trek series are on prime.

They are on Netflix as well, but TOS is the "remastered" one where they re-did a lot of the special effects.

It's just not the same.

Breaking Bad is a good idea!  I'm a huge Walking Dead fan already!  Thanks...I'm going to load it up now.  As to the various Star Trek series...lol...BIG fan too.  One day I'll post a picture of my TNG hoodie complete with engineering communicator badge.  (The husband has command.)  Thanks, all!  I'd reply individually but I'm struggling with this.  Again, thanks all!

I like the second half of Voyager (probably when Seven of Nine showed up and they got rid of Neelix).

The Wire is another good one (a little overtly liberal, but still good).  We got the "Leverage" series for Christmas, and have been quite entertained thus far.  I never saw it when it was on the air, but it always intrigued me.  Timothy Hutton stars and does a very nice job.

I've been busy lol. Actually I didn't care much for vger when it was on, now that I'm staying at home with the baby I've been watching all the series, just finished deep space nine and started vger. It always seems the first couple of seasons are kind of lame and only got better once the ratings started to slip.

Both worth a second watch for sure.  Did you watch DollHouse?  I really liked that and hated to see it cancelled.

I really enjoyed Deadwood, as it seems like it was probably as gritty as Deadwood must have really been in the beginning.  Some found the language too unbearable.  But I bet they probably did cuss that much.  Anyway, HBO just cut it off at the height of its popularity and it caused quite the uproar at the time.

But I still recommend it if you can tolerate  :censored:

Heck, where is my brain.  I can google too.  :/  The drugs are great when you have a knee replacement, but they make you stupid.  Thank you, though.  :)

Yes, British Top Gear only.  The American version is just plain sad.  Vikings was good too, but I don't know if it's on anything.  I am not technologically savvy...

Bonnie and Clyde die.

Billy Jack surrenders, and the hippy kids shoot him the Black Power sign as the police drive him off to jail.

Dirty Harry shoots the bad guy.

Doctor Strangelove stands up, and a bunch of nuclear explosions go off.

TrueDat- best wishes for a quick recovery.

Do you know what is really good after knee surgery? Hash browns and sausage gravy. Can Mr. TD bring you some carry-out from the Huddle House?

Farscape - great and very unique sci-fi.

Fringe.

Babylon 5 - one of my all time fav series.

The X-files.

Deadwood. Deadwood is, IMO, the best series ever made.

Justified - now in its 5th season. Worth catching up if you have't seen it.
