Occupy the Hood Aims to Bring More Minorities Into the Occupy Wall Street Fold

.

Occupy Wall Street wants to represent the "99 percent." But if you've been down to observe the goings-on at Zuccotti Park, you'll have noticed that the majority of participants are white, which -- at the risk of sounding obvious! -- does not represent 99 percent of the U.S. population. Now, labor unions are in on the act repping more working-class minorities, but that isn't reflected in the makeup of the Zuccotti campers.

In response to OWS's crunchy white image, two activist friends based in Detroit and New York have started a sub-movement called Occupy the Hood, which is focused on bringing minorities into the protest. On Facebook, the group's page reads:

We are The Least Represented We are Among The Ignored We are Among The Unemployed We are Considered The Under Educated We are Considered The Minority We are The Consumers But most importantly WE ARE THE HOOD!!

The neighborHOODs is where the hearts of the people are. Our homes, our parks, our selves. It is in our best interest to have all abled voices heard to bring forth a peaceful solution in this world we have been given. There are millions of people that are effected by the Wall Street crisis. The questionable, unethical activities downtown Manhattan... and in Corporate America directly effects our economic struggles and the future of all business and personal endeavors.

Occupy the Hood is the brainchild of Malik Rhasaan, a construction worker and father of three from South Jamaica, Queens. He went down to Occupy Wall Street near the beginning and liked it, but "I noticed there isn't a strong black and Latino presence, or a strong Asian presence for that matter," he said. "I realized a lot of people just don't know about it."

there aren't any black people. Why is she so concerned about black people protesting now. How many black people did we see in the teabagger's march?

They bring some blacks and put them up front or people of other races and start screaming that they are not racist and they pretend to be highly upset when it is obvious to so many in different circumstances.

They always bring there favorite black guys on stage to sing for the teabaggers..

Many people of all races agree with the protests but can't attend for one reason or the other..

What makes you think that blacks want anything to do with your freak show. Oh yeah. Free money.

Most likely more paid protesters.

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Well I can certainly see how crushing student loans would be a huge priority in the hood.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

ER! You don't have to pay to go to  a public grade school. Besides, they only have a grad rate of 27%.

You can get a home in Detroit for 500. The real unemployment is close to 40%.

What could the ghettoites want?

You never see blacks in crowds of deadbeat hippies, from Woodstock on.

The reason is they can buy dope cheaper in their own neighborhoods.

White deadbeats need protests, marches, or rock festivals to get enough dealers together to promote competition, and to avoid risk of arrest.

It's all about dope. Always has been.

"Occupy the Hood Aims to Bring More Minorities Into the Occupy Wall Street Fold"
In other words, in a desperate attempt to try and make it seem like the almost completely lily- white OWS protestors aren't a bunch of racists and make it seem like the media morons who accused Tea Partiers of racism for having mostly white attendees AREN'T a bunch of freaking hypocrites, they'll have their union thugs go out and beg black people to join them.

Perhaps Blacks aren't interested in the self-flagellation of what they see as one more self-absorbed group of guilt-ridden, trust-funded, middle-class, sloganeering White kids. Especially since the policies they've promoted in all their "helpfulness" over the last 45 years or so have helped bring about the destruction of the Black family, resulted in record numbers of incarcerated Blacks, and created the neo-slavery of government dependence.

I mean, if you're going to make sure the Black community stays forever in your debt and a reliable voting bloc, you have to make sure they never position themselves to reap the financial successes that would haul them up out of poverty and dependence. The best way to do that is keep them convinced they're victims and promote their reliance on entitlements in a never-ending cycle. When some manage to fight through the brainwashing and free themselves, they turn into Allen West, Thomas Sowell, Dr. Mildred Jefferson, Clarence Thomas, Larry Elder, Condoleezza Rice and Herman Cain.

Can't have that, right?

Perhaps more Black Americans are finally catching on to your bullshit.

Y'all have it all wrong. Blacks see the protest as rich spoiled kids spending "THEIR" reparations money which is owed to them by rich white folks for 200 years of slavery....even if they just got here last year on a leaky boat from Jamaica.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
