Hey DUmmies, here's a revolutionary idea (I figured the "R" word would get your attention), quit your dead end under payed jobs and start a business of your own.
Go ahead, take some risks, take the plunge. Enter the market with a product or service that is in demand and make a success story of yourselves.
Well?
I've listened to people bitch about what someone else has made all my life. But when I say, "You had the same chance he did, why didn't you do it?" You know the answer...or more like, the excuses I got. I got married, well he did too. I had 3 kids, well he did too. I didn't have any money, well he didn't either and on and on it goes.
OH! ...and there was one fellow that grumbled all the time. I shut him up for a few minutes one time when he was fussing about what he got paid and how well off his boss was. I remind him that his father in law had given him a house when he got married. His boss rented until he saved enough to get a loan to build. I reminded him that while he was spending his weekends at the river drinking beer and skiing his boss was working, not drinking and saving his money to start a business. And when he went to work for his boss and the boss had asked him to work a 1/2 day on Saturdays, he didn't. His boss worked all day Saturday and some of Sunday most times. He spent every extra dime he had partying and having a good time, his boss invested any extra he had. So at 50+ his boss owned a pretty good company, several employees, started to relax a little, enjoy life, had a nice boat and a place at the river AND the beach. The boss could afford to send his kids to a nice college, took them on trips to Europe and other places often. When grumpy complained about not being able to do the same for his kids and not having a chance, I reminded him that while his boss was building his little empire, he had been out drinking, partying and spending his chance.
It's hell when you get old and there are people just as old as you around to remind you of your mistakes.
