Looks like they are assisting a choking victim with the Heimlich maneuver to me.

Seriously, you have to feel for some of those officers.  I would not want to babysit a bunch of lunatics.

I have no sympathy for the protesters, I just feel sorry for the cops and the people in NY who have to put up with these fools who have no idea what they're protesting.

Interesting comment at buzzfeed, I thought Democrats wanted to help the middle class? BTW, if they're poor and homeless like this guy says then how come they all have cellphones with cameras and video? computers and the internet?

Quote
I was on the front lines of the protest. It was NOT about protecting the middle class, but protecting the WORKING class (by fighting for the lowest class and trying to hold the priveleges of the middle class), while fighting for PARTICIPATORY democracy. It's easy to say what you believe we're about from the sidelines, but when you're on the ground, it's a different story. Sure, some people there advocate precisely what you're saying, but the term "middle class" comes up positively about as often as "tea party" does. MOST of us are from the working class, are poverty stricken, and/or are homeless. We're fighting for OUR right to live, and while we hope that the middle class joins us, we don't do a terrible amount of talking about protecting them (though we'd necessarily have to do so in order to fit our idea of participatory democracy)

The front page of the NY Daily News (it's in the DU picture thread for those interested) had a chick being pinned and cuffed by the cops, who were looking very professional about it, and she actually looked like she'd clean up pretty well...aside from some large graphic on her sternum right at the top of her cleavage, which I hope for the sake of her family wasn't a permanent tattoo.

Does a standard HOBO Hunting Permit work or do I need to get "protester" enhancement validation?

They do know how to perform when cameras are around. As soon as a cop touches them they start wailing and screaming like they're getting a root canal via their rectum. It's all part of the theater.

Took a look at the pictures and while some don't look to bad, many are just what I imagined.

They do know how to perform when cameras are around. As soon as a cop touches them they start wailing and screaming like they're getting a root canal via their rectum. It's all part of the theater.

Very first thing I thought. Need to put on a good show for the bleeding hearts and people who just need a reason to hate the cops.

I have no sympathy for the protesters, I just feel sorry for the cops and the people in NY who have to put up with these fools who have no idea what they're protesting.

Is anyone really sure what exactly they're protesting? I sure don't

Where are the pictures showing what these people did to get arrested ?

What ?

I see no problem in those pictures that couldn't be solved with the proper use of a 25Mt nuclear warhead ..

Actually, a 168 grain FMJ, applied at about 2800fps, would do the trick for far less money (and collateral damage), even if it had to be repeated on other vermin protestors.

It's stuff like this that won Nixon his presidency.

That pic of the group in line with Peter Frampton at the end.  He's in serious need of the fashion police.  I hate the lot of them, the more I look at the photo.  Look at that smug self-regard on the one next to Frampton.  The desperately wailing girl.  Makes you want to turn a firehose on them at the very least.  (I'm trying to be nice).

These idiots have NO idea how Wall Street works, what they're protesting, or even why their lives are so miserable.  They just know that they're miserable and bitter, and this is an outlet for them to act like school kids.  Then, when they act like spoiled, immature brats and get sprayed, they go bonkers.

These are the people that were busy writing notes in high school economics class, didn't make it into college, or if they did, got some worthless degree that didn't require any thinking whatsoever.

Got to talk a bit with one of the local SWAT commanders this weekend. He's also a unit Command Sergeant Major, so that's how I met him.

Anyhoo...

...he noted that choke holds are counter-productive because people who are choked reflexively struggle. To quickly subdue violent arrestees he prefers arterial occlusion techniques because the brain shuts down in mere seconds without the thrashing.

46. It is ridiculous to suppose that exceesive force and verbal abuse is not police brutality...
 because they both are.

A person need not be beaten to be a victim of police brutality.

Luminous said that over and over again at the thread. "Verbal abuse is police brutality."  She's a San Francisco moonbat freak, the worst kind.  She believed in raising her kid with no boundaries or rules.  I can't stand her.
