For one thing, there are a lot of REPUBLICANS/TEABAGGERS/FOX VIEWERS in the SOUTH. Maybe not so many in the rest of the country.

I think they are out of touch down there.

It amazes me that anyone outside MSDNC takes Kos seriously.  Usually, you just nod your head and eye possible escape routes when people like him talk to you.

It's not that the South has more (insert your favorite liberal derogatory noun here) than the rest of the country....

It's just that Southerners can spot bullshit long before others will step in it....

More racists in the South?  I don't think so.  I've lived in the South (God's country) and in the North (the Soviet Socialist Republic of New York City, or Sodom+Gomorrah, depending on your view), for at least a decade straight in each, and I can tell you that there are more racists, of all different stripes, in the North than there are in the South.  The only real difference is that the racists in the South are either too stupid or too honest to lie about their racism, which is refreshing inasmuch as it makes it a lot easier to figure out if you're dealing with a racist - in the North, they like to hide and pretend to be sophisticated, progressive liberals/radicals.
