If I hear ONE MORE Pub claiming that the US has the highest corp. taxes I'm going to scream! The term Corporate Tax Rate means NOTHING! It's the effective tax rate! Anyone would be hard pressed to find ANY corporations that actually PAY the published tax rate! Depending on what corp. it is, and what business they are in, some pay NONE!

Check it out!

The Dumpmonkey is correct but for the wrong reasons. US corporate tax rates are the second highest in the world. They like to play that Effective tax rate Game but that's a big variable from Corporation to corporation  because of a plethora of tax situations. Anyway Standard or effective rate it doesn't really matter because it's a pass through Tax paid by customers of the corporation through price structure of Items. So when the class warriors "Stick it to the man" they are actually sticking it to the Little guy and others in Higher consumer prices. only winner is Uncle sugar.

It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

Why should they?  Are you so stupid you actually believe that a Dem controlled WH and Congress would close the loopholes?

These idiots are due some major kicking and screaming over the next couple of years.  They have no concept of how to look ahead as to what's going to happen and to position yourself to take advantage of it.

The primitives don't know excresence about taxes and tax policy.

The primitives oftentimes long for the days when the maximum income tax rate was circa 90%, about the tail-end of the Eisenhower administration, the beginning of the Kennedy administration.

Nobody, but nobody, in the whole U.S. of A. paid 90%.

If the primitives think Joe Kennedy was giving 90% of his income to the government, the primitives are even more deluded than humanly possible.

I'll say this, "the corporate tax rate iin the U.S. is way too high".

It's also moving in the wrong direction.

Corporate Income Tax Rates Around the World
May 5, 2006
http://www.taxfoundation.org/blog/show/1471.html

According to the second link the U.S. moved from sixth in the world to second from 2000 to 2006. I would not be shocked at all if we were now numero uno. The world has been getting smarter since the late 90's (per the first link) and we have been getting dumber. It's way past time to lower the rates and get competative.

With a hat tip to ol' B.F. -

Those who would give up essential economic liberty to obtain a little temporary welfare safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."

Yep -- Corporations don't pay taxes -- people do.  Can you imagine if that stupid democratic-backed bill to end oil "tax subsidies" had passed?  gasoline would have shot to $6 or even $7 a gallon -- OVERNIGHT.

Yeah, these guys care about the poor.  They care enough to ensure they stay poor and their situation gets worse.

Right there is the most important thing that you can't get the dimocrats to understand.

The fools are getting all excited about trying to tax the hell out of oil companies thinking that the companies are just going to sell their product at zero profit.  Guess what DUmmies there is no such thing as taxing a corporation!

Every problem in the USA can be cured with the application of another tax. /DUmode
