Is this what we have to look forward to as a nation?

Found this on another forum, and thought it worthy of attention here.

I need some advise - safety of food storage related
by Kristeenascrafts on Tue Dec 02, 2008 5:37 pm

I do not have a lot of friends over. I keep it to a minimum. The people who do come over are "awake", usually because I woke them and am helping to prepare. However, we had a guest who I dared call a friend until last night when she came over for the first time. Anyone who enters the house can't help but hear the baby chicks, and ask to see them.

She saw our laundry room - covered in shelves covered in food - and made the comment, 'If everything goes to hell like I think it will, you WILL feed my family!'. I replied, 'You had better have much to contribute if you think that I would take onthat extra burden.'. She cut me off with, ' When the Government wants to know who is hording, I am reporting you - unless you feed me and my family.' When she realized she saw my "lock and load" look, she started laughing and claiming that she was joking. No, she wasn't.

She has gone from friend to threat.

We're looking at buying land already, and she certainly wouldn't come to our home there --- however, the damage is done.

Any advice? Other than the fact she is never welcome here again.

How would you respond if a "friend" said something like this in YOUR home?

Is this really what we as a nation have become?

First of all, the DUmmie wouldn't have been in my house. Yes, she has to be a DUmmie to make the statement, "When the Government wants to know who is hording, I am reporting you, .........."

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

I have a friend who, when this sort of scenario would come up, really enjoyed spinning up people like ol' Kristeena by making comments along the lines of 'Why would I do that, I just need to hunt survivalists' and watch them go apoplectic.

Now that's not a very "liberal" attitude is it now Kristeenascrafts.

You should be happy that your food is going to be redistributed to people that didn't bother preparing like you did.

'Course if someone said that to me I'd mention that fresh red meat is beneficial in a survival diet.

Simple. Show them my Remington 700 in 7mm Magnum, then say "see here, moonbat, this rifle will turn a person's head into a canoe at 500 yards." It's important to grin menacingly while making the statement. My guess is, even a moonbat would get the point.

Another personal anecdote from the same forum:

Strange scene at Costco...
by JeffDubya on Thu Dec 04, 2008 12:09 am

So, tonight I made my second food purchase for the bunker. However, I was intrigued to see several other people with flatbed carts doing the same as me. I actually was very gratified to see this just because it made me feel more rational, and less like the Glenn Beck listening crackpot that we all know I am.

Anyhow, when I was in line getting ready to check out, something unexpected happened. There was a woman with a flatbed cart buying a large television. Suddenly, she was shouting at one of the guys with the food cart.

"YOU PEOPLE... you're all a bunch of crazies! And what is up with all this hoarding food? It should be illegal! I don't understand what your problem is!"

To which the guy just looked at her and said, "Listen - I have a family to feed. The value of the dollar is falling. I think prices are going to start rising. So THIS is the way I am choosing to spend my money. If you're worried about it, why don't you put your ****ING TELEVISION back on the shelf and buy some yourself. For that matter, I'm guessing that if you have that much for home entertainment, you can afford a lot more food than we can."

Nothing is officially happening yet, and this is the kind of behavior I am seeing... makes me think the 2,000 rounds of ammo I purchased might not be enough.

Scary.

Yep... my "bunker" is nothing more than a converted canning pantry. I didn't get it until I grabbed a big mason jar and slid it in the shelves, nothing much else fits, but those jars sure do. Gotta pull a punch of them out this weekend and resize them for cans to make the most out of the space that I have...

But this incident, as well as Kristeenascrafts' incident with her crazy friend have me thinking more than ever. I have always said the difference between now and 1929 is that a majority of people are no longer decent, god-fearing, civilized individuals. They won't be standing in food lines, they will riot, slash and burn. (emphasis mine)

Perfect example... NOTHING is happening yet except predictions and bad news, and some are sticking their head in the sand and getting a little manic.

I think the "so" kinda gave it away. My friends and relatives think I'm nuts, but they're not demanding a portion of my food should all hell break loose. I've already made it absolutely clear to these same idjits that my personal firearm collection and ammunition stock is off-limits as well, with the exception of my parents. I've actually had some of them say, prior to our current crisis, that my house was their fall-back position in the event of violence.

They may well be.  I just joined the forum and haven't known these folks long ehough to vouch for 'em.

It is, however, the Glenn Beck Insider forum, and as such, I wouldn't think the general demographic - Constitutional libertarians (small "L") generally, who have paid subscriptions (similar to Rush's 24/7 membership) to get into the Forum - leans away from the "bouncy" mindset.

Me:  You'll need to fight over that with (person X) who has already told me I must feed their family.  Each of you will choose one representative and be given a rolling pin.  The who kills the other gets to eat the other family.

How many bouncies do we see from DUmp Monkies that donate to the DU though?

Yeah, but the difference is that the DUmp is completely populated with DUmmies - except for AdBot.  Remember the first rule of DUmmies:

DUmmies lie.  All the time, DUmmies lie.

Glenn Beck Insiders may be WRONG - either individually or collectively - but I hope it cannot be automatically assumed that they lie as well.

Yep, if anything hits the fan my whole family knows to come to the ranch. We could pretty much defend against anything here. I hold the high ground with a good view 360 in the back 40. Plenty of game and a place for a massive garden. There's also 2  natural springs. Pretty sure we can hold our own.

Tell ya thruth, wouldn't faze me in the least. Kinda lookin' forward to it. Don't know any other way we're going to get back to what our forefathers gave us.
