Title: Well I'm having to think about a new notebook
Post by: EagleKeeper on December 06, 2013, 12:51:35 PM
I've known that the battery has had its bucket kicked for a while.

And I've had to modify the shell to keep it from setting my home on fire.

I'm thinking about a chromebook and replacing the chrome OS with fedora but I fear that it would have an on board chip that talks to the NSA.

The ones that I've looked at so far come with 4 gigs of ram (can a 32bit OS even address 4 gig of ram? I know windows cannot) and a 16 gig SSD, I'm only taking up about 8 gig on my linux partition so I can make that work.

It will need to possess an esata port so that I can plug in my 1 terrorbit external sata drive.

Currently I'm staring at a 64bit Asus G50 but anymore I no longer need the extra 32 bits of data path since all I do is check email and float around on the Internets.
