Some to gang violence, some to drugs, some to work or traffic accidents.

So it would be ok for one of them to encourage raping other women so they'd feel so ashamed they'd go and kill members of groups "close enough" to gangs, drug dealing and manufacture, or cars.

Perhaps they could go and blow up a automobile assembly line, or go into a school with gang members' siblings and kill 30 kids if the mothers involved can't actually identity or take revenge on the guilty themselves.

You see, once you start justifying hate and violence against those not directly guilty, if only because you believe those of your own tribe are so wrong that you can't bare the shame, you wind up able to justify nearly anything. Including things that are even more shameful.

and whoosh!..... right over their heads it goes..

this story sounds perfectly plausible and not like the sort of crazy shit someone would confess to due to being placed in a stressful situation such a police interrogation (democracy-style) or living in a warzone. duhhhh

Usually by a painful stoning, so why not take the quicker way out?  I also read this morning, that young men are also homosexually raped,  to be coerced in the same manner.  I don't understand that one though, since homosexual acts are punishable by death, wouldn't the "recruiter" also be put to death?

Like a thugs hierarchy in a prison, the imams take a different view of catchers than pitchers.  The pitchers tend to be viewed as heterosexuals who really wanted a woman but had to settle for something less.  The letter of the religion doesn't hold women responsible for being rape victims, but as it is actually applied in Arab culture it certainly works out that way, because the woman is invariably viewed as having done something to tempt the otherwise good man into attacking her (men not being able to resist such evil feminine wiles and all) so the men are forgiven for a token excuse about it being "All her fault," while the victim is viewed as at best a slut for putting herself in that position (like the old-time idea in the West that "If she dressed like that she must have wanted it"), at worst as a seductress who led a good Moslem into sin and so must be executed.  Part of this is because they don't think a woman should be out by herself where she would be vulnerable to an attack, which plays into their stupid 'She was asking for it' viewpoint.  It's completely F'd up but has at least as much to do with traditional Mid-Eastern culture as it does with anything unique to Islam.

"Special" is indeed a word that people have applied to their sort of thinking, if in other contexts.
