9. Relax ...

All this means is that they are going to reconsider 4800 ballots that have already been rejected for not complying with MN election law. The chances are that few, if any, of these ballots will actually get counted for either candidate.

We'll see.

As BadCat said in the Shoutbox, there's a lot of absentee ballots in that total, and most of them are from military members--who overwhelmingly go Republican.

I'm sure in their heart of hearts, the vast majority of Democrat Senators really would prefer to see Al 'Asshat' Franken get nudged out on this.

all Franken would do if he wins is add to the daily embarrassment total that the Democrats have been piling up since Obama was sworn in. For the 'smartest administration ever' they certainly seem to be acting like a gaggle of village idiots.

Scuttlebutt that I've heard is that you're dead on, DAT--a lot of Dems are embarrassed by Franken.  Also, Coleman is a nice guy, apparently, liked by both sides of the aisle.

I mentioned to a friend that taking the US Senate with Al Franken in it seriously is similar to taking the Galactic Senate with hot teenage girls in it seriously.  It's something that you just can't do.

The latter  would be an upgrade.  The senate with franken in it is is like reading Vogon poetry into the record.

The Little Goons have been mesmerized into believing it is all about the number of senators who have a "D" included in their title.  They are also laboring under the delusion that "D" means pure and Little Goon-like.

It is true that Al Franken would add to the numbers.  It is true Al Franken will always be a Little Goon.  The facts, though, are hurtful.  This senate already has its share of wacked-out leftist.  They are all an embarrassment to the powers that be.

The democrats need to take their embarrassment level down a notch or nine.  After all, they have The Magic Negro with which to deal.

This means the "democrat leadership", about which some Little Goon wondered, could not care less about Franken's plight.  Their "Howdy DOOTY Show" already has too many clowns and not enough Serious Sidekicks.

You know, the left thought this last election was going to put the conservatives in this country into a forty-year exile.  I personally believe it will be they, the lefty anti-American idiots, who will soon find themselves adrift in the Sea of Oblivion.

I see 2010 shaping up to be a subtle slap.  I see 2012 turning out to be a TKO.

Agreed. Their greediness and lust for power will be their downfall. That and their bottom-line hatred for America, its people and capitalism. And civility. And life.

Agreed re: 2010, though perhaps more than just subtle slap. Kick in the behind? 2x4 upside their heads?

TKO in 2012 is possible, for sure.

Did anybody else see that picture that was floating around the net of Franken in a diaper and bunny ears?  I saw it on Moonbattery, and I was astoundingly embarassed to see it.  His legs were spread and everything.  The senate is simply no place for that level of silliness, and even the D senators have to know that.

At least the galactic senate helped create Palpatine.  Of course, that still leaves me wondering something.  What freedoms were taken from the citizens when Palpatine became emporer?  None that I can tell.  Just another one of Lucas's faux pas.

I think local rule ended and Galactic taxation (without Representation) began.  The Galactic Empire is clearly based on the Roman Empire.

The kings stilled ruled on Corellia after the Empire started.  The citizens of Padme's home world continued electing their monarch.  The Senate even continued until it's malfeasance was proven when Vader determined that Senator Organa was the spy.  The empire let the Ewoks be, until the rebellion came along and told them all these grand stories about making war against the empire.

That's because they'd already ceded all rights and freedoms over the preceding years, kind of like creeping socialism. At that point changing from Republic to Empire was just semantics.
