If confirmed, I see garland as a person who will have a vendetta for conservatives for his implied slight for not getting confirmed back in 2016. 

The only reason that xiden nominated him is as a consolation prize for this implied slight and knowing that he will be spring loaded to go after conservatives for the smallest matters with a vengeance as payback.
