Anthony Weiner Sentenced to 21 Months in Prison in Sexting Case

The disgraced (New York) representative will also have to register as a sex offender once he is released.



Former U.S. representative and failed New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner was sentenced to 21 months in prison on Monday for sexting with a minor, a story that rocked the 2016 presidential election.

The case resulted in the FBI reopening its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email practices, which Clinton has repeatedly blamed for her election loss.

According to reporters, Abedin was a no-show at Weiner’s sentencing.

As I pointed out in the feed, New York Post used an awesome headline/ title for their own article on the sentencing: "Anthony Weiner Gets Hard Time."
It brought my inner Butt- Head to the surface. "Uh huh huh huh, Weiner, huh huh huh. Uh huh huh huh, Hard, huh, huh huh."

Weiner, who had faced up to ten years in prison, hung his head in shame, covered his face and .

He broke down a second time at the end of the hearing, as his lawyers tried to comfort him by patting his back. His mom, Frances, wept in the gallery, where she sat with Weiner’s dad, Morton, and his brother, Jason.

Weiner didn’t stop crying until after court officers had cleared the room.
