The twlemarketing company worked for various companies like Time Warner Cable, Guthy Ranker Products-certain ones, Ageless Male, and other things, I also had to do calls for College Republicians,Jay Sekalow and the stupid ACLJ, The company did various callings for Newt Gingrich, Took calls for Benny Hinn and a Fundie channel,NRA and Conservatives (CPAC)

Never would have taken that job if I had known the truth.

They wanted me to take the blame for something I didn't do.

I have my dignity for what it is worth and I start looking for a job tomorrow. I can only hope it gets better quickly. I know I don't want put stress on my husband. I will do whatever is needed to make him not suffer. I know he is concerned.

Except work.

I wonder if he knows "the 90's" were 20 years ago?

Doubt it, he's still trying to live "the 60's".   :stoner:

Besides, you knew the job was dangerous when you took it."    :lmao:

Have y'all noticed that a lot of them claim to be or have been in, telemarketing?

Guess those are the best jobs you can get with college degrees in the Liberal Arts.

4. Check the unemployment comp laws in your state

you may qualify if you work for someone for cash then they "lay you off". Wash a car, mow a lawn, whatever. They become your last employer. Often, the company you just left takes the hit on their unemployment tax. Check it out.

I see.  You do a couple of odd jobs for a neighbor, who's doing you a favor when you need a couple extra bucks, and now you embroil everyone in a bureaucratic nightmare.

Justice wanted quit over that?  Hell, I took the heat for not getting a successful acceptance test on a project that was in pieces for the entire test period.

Of course, I'm so annoyed at my employer now that I am looking for other work, but barring that I'm starting college in the fall.

Guess those are the best jobs you can get with college degrees in the Liberal Arts.

Part of the reason they're so miserable is that they believed in the liberal mantra of pursuing whatever you want, regardless of its stupidity. Just because you can STUDY the Humanities doesn't mean you'll be GOOD at art or writing, and just because you STUDY history or politics you are not guaranteed income. Instead, you keep your old textbooks, write hilariously bad screeds on internet message boards, and scrape by at menial jobs. Ironically, if they would just put the guitar away, sell the Wittgenstein books, and get a job using their backs, they'd be happier and healthier. Similarly, their 20 years of system administration doesn't qualify them to run a company.

I am a firm believer that a huge chunk of today's shithead liberal population has been cursed doubly, once by the Information Age and once again by the culture itself: ditch digging is something that MEXICANS do, and a LIBERAL'S job is to take to the Internet to decry that fact...right after they get off their telemarketing job for Guthy Renker, and right after they attempt for the billionth time to replicate on an acoustic guitar the chord progression from their favorite Radiohead song.

Hey, DUmmies: if you were good at something, you'd be making money at it by now. Give it up...get a job doing what Mexicans do, and stop thinking you're Cesar Chavez for blogging about how sad it is that Mexicans do whatever it is you should be doing.

I did telemrketing in the 90's too. They never gave us a script to use. We did however had to learn to pronounce the products name correctly and get updated on new products that were in que for the day. By law we had to take the first no reply and let it go after that and thank them for calling. I have no idea where those posters over at DU are claiming they had to give 4 rebuttals but I'm certain that after the FTC changed the laws back when the Do not call list started that you can't keep asking the callers to go along til you get them to crack.
