As I'm sure some of you may have noticed, a few threads in GD have gotten rather heated over the capitalism vs socialism debates, and yet I noticed something. Despite how heated these debates are and how controversial some the opinions given were (mine included) no one was banned for giving their point of view, even if it is not in sync with democratic leadership. Compare that to Free Republic,where if you put a single toe of the crazy line, you get "zotted." So that just proves that while the other side is concerned with talking points and making themselves feel better about their ****ed up world view, our side is interested in debate and actually learning and trying to solve problems. Oh and don't even get me started on how much better we are than that cesspool of racism called Stormfront.

Sure, there's a difference.  Stormfront makes no bones about their hatred of anyone with different color of skin, point of view, or who uses soap and shampoo.  Democratic Underground is more than happy to promise those dark skinned fellers baubles and scraps from the masters tables so long as they will vote for them.  Their hatred and bigotry is virtually identical, otherwise.

His sin?  Believing in property ownership rights.  Oh the horror.  They may as well be communistunderground over there.  They can sit and brood and fantasize about America becoming a communist country.  It isn't going to happen.  We're not certain exactly how many communists are within our borders, but it isn't 51%.  And the proudly, fiercely anti-communists are well armed.

I've seen much shameless bigotry on there. So there's really no difference at all.
