Why the GOP is SO DESPERATE to see Bush Tax Cuts Remain
« on: February 23, 2009, 05:21:02 PM »
Why isn't the GOP eagerly stabbing it's few remaining supporters in the back by acting like a democrat.

It's simple, really.

If Obama's stimulus actually produces jobs after the tax cuts for the rich expire, their TAX CUTS, TAX CUTS, TAX CUTS!!!" meme dies.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x8218999

So when Obama's "trillion dollars of pork" Stimulus package fails, costs twice as much , fails again , will you in turn shut your mouths and let the adults run things again ?

2. I'm sure that's true. I know every time I hear another Pub yelping

about tax cuts, I scream at my TV "You don't OWE taxes if you are unemployed or not making a proofit...YOU IDIOTS!" There are very few co's that are going to post a profit in the next few quarters, so TAX CUTS would do NOTHING!!!!

This AM some Pub called the WJ gripeing that there's no $$ in stimulus to help small business. He wants to start a business and nobody will lend him $$ to buy equipment. Doesn't this idiot realize that something has to generate spending power FIRST? If people don't have any money, no business is going to be able to sell their product!

I wonder if the primitive sees the irony here.

4. Bingo

If those tax cuts were so great why are we where we are now?

These should not only be removed, but Obama should RAISE the marginal tax rates back to Clinton levels or higher.

5. The tax cuts gave the

rich more money to invest in their businesses and expand therefore hiring more people. Isn't that what the RW idol Reagan said? Yeah, that worked out real great. Trickle down. I heard a stand up comedian say once he went into a fancy restaurant for some of the "rich people" food to trickle over to his plate.

Bullshit on their tax cuts. They've made enough in the last 8 years to prop up their inheritor's for a life time.

I guess no one had any spare change that day for an out of work unfunny comedy actor.

7. We need some trickle up action

Heck trickle up works better and makes the country richer than trickle down.

Trickle up works by taxing the rich by raising the marginal rates, raise the payroll tax on the rich, etc. Then spend that money on programs that help the poor, and on infrastructure such as public transportation, roads, health care, and even more tax cuts for the poor. The money you cut from the taxes from the poor pours immediately into OUR economy, and then people who want to get rich off that can and the money trickles up from the hands of the poor to the shop owners, to the suppliers, to the factory owners....instead of giving that money to the factory owner to do what exactly with? expand his factory? Why? The poor dont' have the money to buy more goods.

Trickle Up Economics. Helps the poor and the rich.

What money. They're poor because they don't have much money. Their contribution to government revenues from anything beyond sales taxes are next to nothing and they have very limited buying power so their contribution to sales tax is proportionally as low as what they can spend in a on goods and services.

Ugh. Why don't they see this. It's been explained to them more times than anyone can count.

They can not see cause and effect. It is like a sickness that they have where reality cannot be seen or heard.

Taxes increase on Business and then the cost of products rise. Continue to tax the private sector and the companies go overseas where it is cheaper to make, then ship, including inport taxes, than it is to make the crap here.

Why do you think all that toy crap from the fast food resteraunts is made in China?

That is the bizarre nature of their simple minds...they truly believe that you can tax business out of any profit they might have, force union wage of ?/hour into every job there is and yet the cost of goods to them will never increase.

It just makes one shake their head.

you can tax business out of any profit they might have, force union wage of ?/hour into every job there is... and the business owner will just tamely submit to risking his/her investment money and investing 80 or more hours a week to build and run a business that is not allowed to earn a profit.   :banghead: :banghead:

OK, this is where excessive stupidity from the DUmmies shines through.

Rich people didn't get to be rich by being stupid.  They also don't stay alive by being stupid.  To destroy the middle class in this country would simply be a repeat of history where the poor finally have enough, rise up and kill the rich, and they're too dead to be rich anymore.  The rich know that, there's no benefit to preventing the middle class and poor from being able to participate in the economy, but that's a minor point.

The major one is this:  If it was the case that taxing the wealthy would trickle up to make the wealthy even more wealthy (as the Dummies continually insinuate), then the wealthy would be petitioning the gov't to raise their taxes so they could make even more money than they do now.  If not, why not?  But you see, they don't, because it's simply not true.

And these lies from the left that the rich only horde their money or don't invest it are just that...... lies.  The wealthy know that by keeping more of their money they can in turn take risks and get their money to make money, which creates jobs, which provides income in order to circulate thoroughout the economy.

But until the DUmmies get away from this "redistribution of wealth" Marxist baloney, which is virtually impossible to do because their whole existance is based upon that being a unquestionable truth, nothing you can say will ever add up to them.  But, as in times past when the business class and investor class sit on the sidelines because the risk was greater than the potential rewards, they'll learn the hard way that people with money aren't going to play the game the way the left wish they would.  Those stinkin' freedoms people have to choose how to use their own money keeps getting in the way of their revolution.

.
Because third world peasant labor is a good thing.

The more wealth is "redistributed," the less wealth exists.

6. they took their money and built factories overseas

And just why do you think they did that?  Could it be the excess regulation, frivolous lawsuits that stop factories from being built, excessive paperwork to comply with government agents, and taxes. Taxes, business tax, inventory tax, unemployment tax, workers comp tax, sales tax, income tax....

The government and liberals make it so hard to do business in the USA that we are willing to take a huge risk by going overseas, dealing with people that don't speak the language, possible nationalization...

You really have no one but your lazy greedy asses about productive people going offshore to make jobs.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I guess the dummies forget that they don't pay tax for drug buys and I'm pretty sure the suppliers don't report the drug money as taxable income.

But look at all those countries (Cuba, USSR, North Korea) where "trickle up" economics was tried! People are flocking there!
