Just saw 2 sources saying 5 to 6 million tuned out when the halftime show started. Botany probably missed that one. It was Glenn beck and Clay Travis (or Buck). But, they're both members of the evil RW media machine. So, I'm sure they just made that up. :whatever:

most watched Halftime Show of all time with 135.4 million viewers, breaking the all-time record.

I haven't seen a positive review of BB's show yet. Maybe morbid curiosity was responsible. Like already pointed out, being sandwiched between the 1st and 2nd half of the freakin' super bowl played into it.

Thanks, ADsOutburst, I missed this gem in Nevilledog's post:

Quote
A lot of MAGA is rooted in evangelical and authoritarian psychology. There's supposed to be a natural order: white at the top, Christian at the top, male at the top, straight at the top.

I've posted about this on previous occasions, but this Staff page from the church I've been attending for >17 years put names and faces to more general info I've posted, https://www.westgatechurch.org/staff :

Two of the three pastors in "Executive Leadership" are Korean, family name Kim;

Among the "Staff" photos, seven of the eight are women, one who is of Assyrian ancestry;

Among the "South Hills Staff", two of the seven are women, and one or two of the men are not "white";

Among the "Redwood City Staff", currently the Congregation Pastor, he is also Korean;

Among "Central Resources - Formation" are eight women not seen in one of the previous groups, one of whom is Chinese, another is Hispanic, and a third is "white" but has a Japanese family name;

Among "Central Resources - Formation" are again, a mix of men and women; ethnically, there are four Hispanics, an Iranian, and an Indian;

Among the ten "Elders" are two women; there is a Chinese woman and a Korean man.

WestGate Church has three campuses, the one in Redwood City just starting up. All in all, our church leadership contradicts Nevilledog's stereotypes.

For the exceedingly curious, here is the Staff webpage for another large Evangelical church in San Jose, Bethel Church, https://bethel.org/staff/ . Nevilledog's stereotypes don't fare well there, either. Here's the webpage with the pastors of Cathedral of Faith, a multi-campus church based in San Jose, https://cathedraloffaith.org/who-we-are/ . Another Nevilledog's stereotype fail. Our Team webpage, The Home Church in Campbell (we attended there for 19 years), https://www.thehomechurch.org/about-us/our-team . Venture Christian Church, https://venture.cc/about-venture/meet-the-staff/ .

Showing Nevilledog's stereotypes are false was easy. If Nevilledog actually cared about the truth, he should spend a year at a decent-sized Evangelical church and actually learn what we believe and do and our churches' leadership.

It's just a conspiracy theory, guys.

Government-backed plans to reshape England’s countryside are drawing fresh scrutiny, as officials move to make it more “diverse,” amid a recent history of anti-white policies in the United Kingdom. Authorities overseeing National Landscapes, formerly known as “Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty,” are revising long-standing management strategies after internal reviews concluded that these areas risk appearing out of touch with a “modern Britain.”

The concern, according to the woke planners, is that the countryside is widely viewed as a space dominated by white, middle-class visitors. Planners for the Malvern Hills openly complained that the area is seen as a place where “most white English users value the solitude and contemplative activities which the countryside affords.” However, they claim that “the tendency for ethnic minority people is to prefer social company (family, friends, schools).”The plan further claims: “Many minority peoples have no connection to nature in the UK because their parents and their grandparents did not feel safe enough to take them or had other survival preoccupations.”

The push is not solely a product of the current leftist Labour government, with the groundwork being laid under the formerly governing Conservatives beginning in 2019. At that time, a series of government-commissioned reports warned that the countryside was being perceived as “an exclusive, mainly white, mainly middle-class club” and risked ending up “being irrelevant to the country that actually exists.”

Proposed remedies include targeted outreach to minority communities, revised marketing campaigns, multilingual signage, and policy changes designed to remove what planners describe as cultural or practical obstacles to participation—for instance, imposing restrictions on dog owners, to make Muslims who regard the animals as “unclean” more comfortable.

When you've been at the top of a hierarchy your whole life, equality feels like oppression. Giving others a seat at the table feels like theft.

:thatsright:

No. Many of these voters are not well-off, and they're tired of being told that they're what's wrong with the country, and that they in fact hold all the power and privilege.

The only thing that works is making it socially and politically costly to be part of it. Outvoting them. Out-organizing them. And building something better that gives people a different place to belong.

Sooner or later, Dems, you are just going to have to grapple with the fact that not enough people agree with you on your political platform. You can implement the policies you want, but it will drive people away from states run by Democrats. You can even try to import voters, but you wil alienate more and more of the people already here.

Sorry to keep posting on this subject, but there's a lot to digest in this DU screed. And by digest, I mean ingest and vomit back up.

And cluster bombs and Napalm.  I wonder what else we could get away with?

Nothing less than tactical McNukes in the heart of every urban shithole the leftists have ridden into the ground.  :-)

Leftist critics hate 'Melania,' but the audience loves it | Opinion

https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/columnist/2026/02/10/melania-movie-reviews-rotten-tomatoes-score/88545838007/

Quote
If you needed an example of the disconnect between legacy media and the country at large, look no further than “Melania.”
...
The critics HATE it, giving it a lousy score of just 10%, according to Rotten Tomatoes (compare that with the 93% score critics gave the 2020 documentary “Becoming” about former first lady Michelle Obama).

Yet, the Americans heading to the theater to watch “Melania” have a vastly different takeaway. They’ve given it a score of 99%.

This discrepancy has broken the film rating site's 27-year record.
...
Think of the critic-audience divide on this documentary as a microcosm of the chasm between how the legacy media treats President Donald Trump and how much of the country views him.
...
“Melania” was released widely on Jan. 30 and, in its opening weekend, smashed expectations, earning at least $7 million. That’s the best opening for a documentary in more than a decade.

Jeff Bock, senior media analyst for Exhibitor Relations, told USA TODAY ahead of the film’s release that anything over $1 million would be “a huge number” and would indicate “a lot of folks who don't normally go to the movies went to this.”
...
I doubt the media will learn anything from “Melania.” But if they were willing to glean something, it should be that marketing to conservatives – and the 77 million Americans who voted for Trump – can pay off.

For a feature film, a $7M opener would be disastrous. For a documentary, apparently it busts through the charts' ceiling. It's easy to dismiss, it's just $7M; OTOH, it drew in an audience that would not normally be in a theater. So :shrug: . More telling, maybe, is the canyon between critics' comments, which were obviously knee-jerkingly Hate-Trump (some admitting not having seen what they denigrated), and comments from ordinary people who actually did see the movie (and might not be willing to lie-for-the-cause).

Los Angeles Teachers’ Union Caught Implementing Anti-ICE ‘Resistance’

https://pjmedia.com/catherinesalgado/2026/02/10/los-angeles-teachers-union-caught-implementing-anti-ice-resistance-n4949342

Quote
A major Los Angeles teachers union is reportedly choosing to brainwash students into hating federal immigration officers instead of educating them, possibly even directly encouraging illegal behavior.

Defending Education released a report on Tuesday, February 10, exposing United Teachers of Los Angeles (UTLA) planning documents and materials that seemingly lobby for using school resources as part of a campaign to demonize and interfere with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers arresting illegal alien criminals. The union argued that the school resources can be a “form of resistance” against ICE when they are used to help “engag[e] students in community self-defense.” The union even wanted to offer “service learning hours” for borderline or outright illegal protest activities.

When UTLA referred to “community self-defense,” what it really meant was defying ICE. By the way, ICE is not raiding schools. If any children are deported, it is almost certainly because their parents are being deported, and illegal alien parents can choose to have their children come with them. The documents do acknowledge the possibility of school staff being arrested, which seems to indicate they have hired illegal aliens. Notably, EdSource states that the Los Angeles Unified School District’s (LAUSD) average for proficiency in math is about 36% and 46% in English
...
Teachers were supposed to lead “discussions with students” and provide “know your rights” training, a deceptively titled set of propaganda points that falsely assert illegal aliens have constitutional rights. UTLA planned to bring in unnamed agencies to discuss how to protect illegal aliens and how to organize to support aliens already arrested.

Defending Education explained:

Quote
Captured images of planning notes seem to advocate for the use of professional development time to “make door hanger immigration kits: w/ pro bono lawyers, affidavits, KYR, etc – distribute,” “engaging students in community self-defense – offer service learning hours,” using school budgets to “buy bullhorns, whistles,” using “security cameras to monitor” for ICE agents, and the use of “phone trees – rapid response/ communication at the school level” such as the “Signal App” to alert to ICE presence.

What the union proposes - and its members have probably carried out - is a gross violation of CA law against politicizing schools. Not that Noisome or Bonta would be likely to interfere. Public schools are approaching the point that teaching kids to read, do Math, etc. is an affront to Progs' Cause-of-the-Month.

Well since our side has the most guns and in reality, the most military trained people then I welcome their revolution. Tey will see the definition of FAFO. I mean if it is civilians against civilians in a civil war then the Geneva Convention and the rules of Land Warfare are not likely to apply.

I've seen the footage of what happens when leftists try to fight people who don't take crap.

They should probably try winning a few fist fights before they talk of revolution.
