The ELIMINATIONIST language has gotten worst
Okay kids, Pretentious Word Of The Month is "eliminationist". Got it? Look for every opportunity to use it in a sentence.
(Last month it was "stochastic", which quickly fell out of favor because the DUmmies couldn't remember how to spell it)
From Wikipedia:
Eliminationism is the belief that one's political opponents are "a cancer on the body politic that must be excised — either by separation from the public at large, through censorship or by outright extermination — in order to protect the purity of the nation"Hey Brzy, it's not us who tombstone people from websites simply for having a different POV. It's not us who have members with names like "BanTheGOP". It's not us who boycott and start letter-writing campaigns to try to have opposing voices taken off T.V. and radio. It's not us who rush the stage or barricade the doors to prevent political figures from speaking publicly. It's not us who daydream about foreign governments arresting, trying and imprisoning our elected officials we don't like. It's not us who generate celebratory threads for days following the death of someone from across the aisle. It's not us who constantly drag the families of politicians through the gutter in the hope that being in the public eye will prove too costly for them personally to continue their pursuits..
Elimination to one degree or another is all you have because your arguments are unpersuasive. Like it or not, this is still a Center-Right country. A lot of citizens still carry in their souls the principles on which this country was founded, number one of which is a distaste for large, oppressive government. We don't want to be Canada or Venezuela or Cuba or any European country. We enjoy our contrarianism, our in your face this-is-how-we-do-it-in-America-ism. If we wanted to be European, we would have already moved there or voted ourselves a similar government. We don't spend sleepless nights fretting over how much money some stranger has made in their lifetime. We believe that those you label "rich" should have the same freedoms as the "poor", not because of your fairy tale about all conservatives believing they will one day be rich, but because of our belief that if our liberty is not universal in this country then it exists not at all.
You claim to be a student of history, yet you are oblivious to the fact that all the great socialist/communist experiments of the past century have depended on the "eliminationism" tactics of mass murder, walling-in of the populace, jailing of dissidents and strict censorship in order to be carried out. Why do you think that is? Oh, don't tell me - they just haven't "done it right", am I correct? How many times do you have to see the experiment repeated, expecting different results each time, before you realize you're a walking definition of insanity?
If you cannot countenance "the animating contest of freedom", as Samuel Adams so eloquently put it, then by all means move to one of your faltering socialist paradises and "crouch down and lick the hands which feed you". Do it voluntarily, as we have no desire to "eliminate" you, and leave the rest of the freedom-loving Americans to continue our own experiment.
