Oh my.

Now, this isn't the nocturnally foul one here; this is the nocturnally foul primitive, another sort of being altogether.

Black top driveway sealer

I had my driveway sealed on Tuesday. The guy said it would take up to 24hrs to dry. It's 36hrs and it is still wet, really wet. It's still shiney. He used latex sealer. It looks like rain out now and somewhere in my neighborhood there is a cat with little black paws. It was almost 70 degrees here yesterday and sunny and was about 60 degrees when he put it on. What happens if it rains and turns colder? My sons are parked on our neighbors driveway and my car is in the garage so I can't get out. He's coming back to look it over this afternoon.

The driveway was newly blacktopped in April so this is it's first sealing.

1. I've always heard 24-48 hours to cure

It should be cured enough to withstand a little drizzle by now, but I sure wouldn't drive on it before 48 hours.

2. It's raining out now and I just put a paper towel on the driveway to see what would come off and it was all black goo. It's supposed to rain until Sunday. It can't be walked on at all.

It's Obama's fault.  Impeach Obama.

Pretty good indicator of how a DUmmie plans.  S/he leaves the car in the friggin garage while having the driveway sealed.  Doh!

What kind of ****ing idiot keeps their car in the garage while having their driveway sealed?

Apparently, the nocturnally foul primitive.  (Not to be confused with the nocturnally foul one, who isn't necessarily a primitive.)

Idiot.

An asphalt driveway placed in April does not need sealer in November.  A DUmmie and his money are soon parted.

I mostly agree with you here but( I will do this nice thing for the dummies ,but only one)

With a new blacktop driveway, instead of sealer the first time.

Take a large bag of concrete, mix in a wheelbarrow or large container. Or mix in batches. Make the mix very soupy,I mean very soupy. Spread this mix out, this will be very easy. Should easliy dry in 24 hours but you should give it three to 4 days.

After 4 days or longer apply your sealer. let it dry.

The soupy concrete gets into the fine cracks that blacktop naturally has, This prevents air being trapped in those cracks and exploding when  the freeze sets in.Thus protecting the blacktop from holes and big cracks.

this can be done every year but about every 3 years is fine

Sounds like maybe the DUmmy hired an Irish Traveller to seal his driveway! They do good roofing work, too. Good luck!

Um, concrete contains aggregate (sand and gravel mostly) which will not settle into the cracks in asphalt.  Also air does not explode when below freezing.

I could be wrong, but he could be referring to portland cement.

That wouldn't surprise me.

The primitives on Skins's island gave up supporting union laborers a long time ago.

The primitives are always boasting about saving money when they hire what are obviously not card-carrying members of unions, to do things around their houses.

I'm greatly disappointed in the primitives.

How much water does one add to dissolve sand and gravel?

What we have here is a failure to communicate...

Cement is the fine powder that does the gluing.
Aggregate is the sand and gravel that is added to the cement to make Concrete.

At least in my experience with the stuff.

You are correct.  That's why I kept asking.
