Take a look at the greatest page. Nadin has the top three posts on the greatest page and they all have at least 103 recs. This has to be a record of some sort. I sure haven't seen anything like that before from one person.

Then read On Walden Pond. I would recommend you also read in a few years on Keynesian economics, and believe it or not Adam Smith's two books. He was quite the Liberal to be honest. Whatever you do, stop listening to Rush and the rest of them.
Oh and also the Sermon on the Mount, and a tad of Gandhi.
Add to your reading work at your local soup kitchen, perhaps also some work on that empathy and trying to understand others. I would recommend that you start reading widely, into history as well. Some philosophy, such as the classics would be good. Like Keynes, you are too young to really truly understand people like Bentham, but you might want to give it a try once you reach college.
Develop a deep intellectual curiosity, which you seem to have. Trust me, learn to think for yourself, and you will learn what liberal progressive thinking is all about.
Oh and in school, pay special attention to the Progressive era including Teddy Roosevelt, and try to find out what Lincoln wrote about labor, trust me, it's not what you think. Read the Papers that Jefferson wrote, as well as Franklin, the farewell speeches for both Washington and Ike are essential.
Yes, I am asking of you a lifetime of study, but you will understand what liberalism is, in multiple flavors, from classical to modern progressivism.
Oh and while at it, do dabble in the sciences.

I am surprised that the DU has not latched onto me, the crazy conservative the liberal family keeps locked in the attic. There are times when this Aunt can get out by shimming down the drain pipe and get inside to use a computer, -----The family keeps me as the cost of a nursing home is too much.
So I am not like Nads, she can run about free as a bird [ except her own birds she keeps caged up.]
Me , I have to live among the crazy liberals, when I can escape, I know why the caged bird sings. Back to the attic and some kind of sanity for a while until I hear Fox news and find the need to shimmy down the drain pipe and get onto the internet to speak my 2 cents.
