Is someone piggybacking off my internet?
I never saw this until this very morning, just minutes ago.
Two of the names are familiar to me; in fact, they live reasonably close to here (give or take some miles).

I doubt that anyone less than a few hundred feet away could piggyback off yours. OTOH, what that is showing is the wireless signals that your computer is picking up.

Hot damn.
And of the two names I recognize (halfway across the county) and my own, three of us are in fact on the same wireless.

Like th4 said, those are the various wireless networks your computer can detect. The little dots and 90-degree arcs indicate the received signal strength, and only one is very strong. Were you able to connect to one of the weak sources your data up and download times would be horrible, with some data lost or incomplete. Looking at what my computer "sees" there are 9 other wireless sources of significant strength in my neighborhood. plus a couple of weaker sources. This being Silicon Valley, I'd be shocked if any are not protected.

I set the SSID name of the wifi hot spot my phone creates to 'FBI Surveillance Van'. I am easily amused.
