Famed American author Ray Bradbury was born August 22, 1920 in Waukegan, Illinois - the birthplace of another great American, Jack Benny.
He has written in several genres including fantasy, horror, mystery, and science fiction.
Among his most famous works are
The Martian Chronicles,
Fahrenheit 451,
The Illustrated Man,
Dandelion Wine,
Something Wicked This Way Comes, other short stories, and the screenplay for the 1956 film version of
Moby Dick.
(Ray Bradbury lives in Southern California, as do I. I had the honor of meeting him in person eleven years ago.)
Happy birthday to a great man.
