Greetings from Texas
« on: October 06, 2012, 10:13:13 PM »
I am a political writer for TexasGOPVote.com.  I look forward to sharing some conervative interviews and articles I have been working on from time to time.  Looking forward to hearing your comments and feedback as fellow conservative cave-dwellers!

Ok, here's my newbie question.  What is the "reputation" or "karma" indicator and how did I start out one in the hole?   ::)

I'd say that the bitchslap (that's what we call negative karma) came because your first post wasn't an introduction at all. It was a link to your blog/article.

While that isn't the end of the world, it's a little impolite.

Now, all that said, the bitchslaps MEAN NOTHING. They have no substance, no meaning, and you shouldn't worry about them. Because if you do, those bitchslaps tend to procreate and the more one bitches about bitchslaps, the more one accrues them.

Take a look at my count and you'll note that apart from a silly quest a year ago or so to accumulate all the bitchslaps I could (it was a slow news day), I really, truly, honestly don't care about any of that.

It's just another way to have fun.

Welcome, btw, and enjoy yourself! Life's too short to take it too seriously!  :-)

Once you've passed a probation period (100 posts), you have access to the reputation system and additional features on the forum (I think your edit button may be disabled until then).  The reputation system is similar to the like/dislike buttons on YouTube.

Eupher, I wasn't there then.  I left in 82.  But my last assignment while I was there was working with the team that installed the PAVE TAC smart bomb system on the F-111's that they used to take a very special diplomatic message to Gadaffi.  I was very proud of their execution of that mission and will never forgive France for not allowing our planes to overfly their airspace adding many hours to the flight, additional refueling stress and the likely loss of one of our aircraft and two airmen.

I love those kinds of "special diplomatic messages." :cheersmate:

Too bad the empty suit in my White House doesn't understand diplomacy. Come to think of it, there isn't much he understands except to take my money and give it to some idiot who can't pull his pants up.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson.
