Radio check, over?

Got a couple of invites, thanks for thinking of me guys.  For those who don't know me, I am also DATMan on a certain durn good gun board, or go by this same moniker on an otherwise nice Conservative board with an unfortunate idiot invasion in progress right now.

I am a long-serving Army officer (on a mob tour right now, actually), lawyer, military history and train buff, gun-nut survivalist head case, artist in graphics as well as lost-wax metal casting, home shop machinist, and also have a large pinch of Medieval reenactor thrown in for comic relief.

Mid-50s in age, my handle comes from my early years in the Army as an M60-series tanker and TC.  It is the nickname given to the warriors of America's elite armored fist by those jealous types who have to walk to war, or ride in things that can be easily destroyed by small-arms fire.

Well, it's damned good to see Tanker here, a gentleman of the highest character and quality.

Tanker's never afraid to hit franksolich over the head with a sledge hammer when franksolich talks about something way out of his (franksolich's) league, and I always appreciated that.

Now, we need to get USA4ME in here, to make it complete.  I have no idea why USA4ME isn't around any more; I've "heard" rumors, but never checked into them.

USA4ME is a sterling figure, a gentler but just as straight-speaking, version of Tanker.

Well thanks to all of you, Frank, yer makin' me blush, man!

Pages seem to load kinda slow (I'm on DSL, it's loadling slower than dial-up normally would).  Any helpful suggestions?

I was Airborne, myself.  Riding in a steel coffin with a couple of other men never really seemed attractive to me.  Neither did fixing a busted track in 4 feet of cold mud.  I still have 1AD nightmares over that.
