We went an saw "World War Z". My wife and I thought it was well done. It's probably the best of the "Zombie Apocalypse" genre. She jumped a few times because we saw it in 3D.   :lmao:

I saw hunger games last night. Ironic, liberal actors and director make a movie about socialism.

I saw a preview for it when I was waiting for some other movie to start.  The zombies looked like they can move a little more briskly than the shambling zombies I'm used to seeing in the movies.

I went to White House Down last night.  It's not too bad as far as action goes but the over-the-top leftist bias of the movie might be too much to take for most Conservative Cave people.

I won't give too much away in case some of you go to see it, but the president is a democrat who's trying to put together a middle east peace deal.  The republican speaker of the house is a caricature/composite of DU's idea of a republican house speaker.  The "right wing" terrorists are right out of Hollywood central casting, including white supremacists.

If you want to see a movie about terrorists taking over the White House, I would recommend the far superior movie from a few months back called Olympus Has Fallen.

We went to see it last Thursday night w son and his girlfriend. We all liked it. Those action scenes kept me quite tense!

BUT.... at times it was VERY difficult to separate the underlying message that Obama is awesome (amazing how much Jamie Foxx resembled O and the actresses playing wife and daughter looked like Michelle and the oldest daughter  ::)  ) and that all Conservatives are evil terrorists.

I must admit though.. Channing Tatum was quite, um... nice?  :shucks: And when he "lost" his shirt..  :naughty:

The kids saw "Olympus Has Fallen" but we haven't seen it yet. T had said he really liked it and we need to see it. Guess I'll be waiting for the DVD.

Mrs. E pretty much nailed when she said that movies released for the summertime are generally geared toward teenagers and bubbleheads who are interested in car chase scenes, tons and tons of special effects, explosions, and general mayhem, and empty-headed romantic comedies that aren't even close to funny -- just stoopid.

Well I'm not a teenager, so I guess I'm a bubblehead!  :hammer:

I LIKE the car chases, special effects, explosions and general mayhem.

Looking forward to "Red 2" coming out mid month. Thought the first one was great. If you haven't seen it, either rent it or it's been showing on TNT several times in the last week or so. I guess leading up to the new one coming out. Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren were in the first and will be in the second.

We went an saw "World War Z". My wife and I thought it was well done. It's probably the best of the "Zombie Apocalypse" genre. She jumped a few times because we saw it in 3D.   :lmao:

Not a chance of me seeing this one! I HATE zombie movies! The last one I saw, the guys talked me into seeing that one with Woody Harrelson in it, where they end up at Bill Murray's house (playing himself) and killing him. After that one, I told them they were on their own going to zombie movies. I'd stay home and read a book.

I don't see vampire movies either....

Saw "The Heat" last night with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy.

Very entertaining film, with tons and tons and tons of f-bombs.

I told Mrs. E that's how the people in Bahston tawk.   :-)

We were going to go see this last night, but T ended up working and since the kids want to go to see it too, we will probably wait and see it with them. We've been having "family going to the movies night" for the last couple of months with them. Pretty neat when your adult kid and his ladyfriend want to "hang" with you!  :yahoo:

It's far better than the "silly" Harrelson movie (I did like it though). It does have some REALLY intense scenes in it.

Starship Troopers 2. Most of it anyway. It was painful to watch. Stinker city.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

It was that way back in the 1970s too. I had to turn up the auditorium volume for every one of those trashy movies that I showed.

At times, the dust would float down from the supports for the ceiling and roof. Two tube amplifiers, each 18" wide x 22" deep, x 6" tall can do that! Especially through the 3 banks of 3' diameter speakers, 3 speakers in each bank behind the screen and the side side stereo speakers! I had me some kind of fun!!!!!!  :yahoo:

Dead Man Down...Colin Farrell
3 out of 5 stars on my rating scale.
It had a plot and a subplot that explored wounded hearts and the hope of healing against the temptation of giving up to depravity.

RIPD. Think men in black redux but with souls instead of aliens. Ryan Reynolds was easy on the eyes and I love seeing Kevin bacon do more actin again. It was just...fun. Nothing special but a fun eay to spend a rainy afternoon with my teen. Since it rained here most of the day the daughter and I came home and watched more movies: Warm Bodies(her choice and it was cute for that genre) and the Possession.

I went to see the new Lone Ranger movie last weekend.  I thought it was pretty good but I did fall asleep and missed a good portion of it.  I didn't think it was that boring but I just couldn't stay awake.

If you liked the first Red movie, you want to see Red 2!

Mrs E and I saw Red 2 on Satiddy night -- late, after all the zombie-watching kids had tottered off to whatever mayhem they normally do at 10 PM or later.

It's so outrageously ridiculous that it's funny as hell. Malkovich tells Willis in the first scene (at a Costco, no less) that he hasn't killed anybody in MONTHS so it's really quite necessary for Willis to get back in the "game."

Mary-Louise Parker is hysterically funny and Helen Mirren is the bitch you really don't want to piss off.  :rotf:   :lmao:

It's worth seeing, just for the mindless entertainment value and tongue-in-cheek gibes toward the intel community.

There's a chain gun/mini-gun scene that'll have you creaming your jeans.

I refuse to go to theaters to see a movie. The kicking of the seats, the yells and screams, the cussing - it's not worth it to me.

The last movie I saw in a theater was The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada back in 2006, because it sounded interesting and had Tommy Lee Jones as its star.

That's over 7 years ago.
