2. I like how that took simple majority but naming a ****in' post office two minutes later takes 2/3rds.

5. This is not good news...

Means they can dig in and blame the Senate...we'll see what the senate does.

That was the idea, dontcha think?

6. To be fair, Pelosi passed a lot of bills that went nowhere too

Like the DREAM Act, which was not meaningless but indeed went nowhere.

But if you want to talk about meaningless, there was the toothless non-binding resolution of disapproval of Bush's surge in Iraq. A meaningless bill that had no power and went nowhere in the Senate. As I recall the Senators got all tied up in knots over the language of the non-binding resolution before finally dropping the whole thing.

7. Are the media chuckleheads mentioning that little detail?

You and me and all of the people we know are well aware that this House bill is completely meaningless, and has zero chance of being enacted into law. (Oh, how things have changed since the days of Terri Schiavo, huh?)

But are the nitwits on the teevee mentioning that at all? From what I've seen the last couple of days, everyone is babbling about this "historic" bit of legislation as if it means anything more than a fart in a windstorm. I hope Luke Russert comes out soon to tell us all what this means for his g-g-generation.

WHOA!!!!!! CBS News just had 4 U.S. Representatives from S.C. that voted against the bill. One of them is my rep. from my district and ...wait for it...a "BLACK" one that defeated Strom Thurmonds son in the election....I didn't even know he was black... and then to top that off,  he seems to be ultra conservative. ....and BTW, CBS wouldn't let him talk on air. Racist much CBS?

You mean that troop surge that worked well enough that Obama is able to keep to the troop withdrawal schedule set up under President Bush?  That surge?  Surely you don't mean the wasted surge in Afghanistan that Obama muffed up by announcing a withdrawal date before the surge even began?

It's all simple, dood . . . (Yes, I know he'll be over to read this) . . .

The House legislates.

The President ponitifcates.

The Senate terminates.
