Yippeee, I did it!
Wrote the check. Filled out the slip. Stuffed 'em in the envelope. Put it in the mail.
When it's processed, my car will be PAID OFF!! HOOO-RAYYY!
Such a wonderful feeling! And I saved over $11,000 in interest paying a 6-year loan in under 9 months!
And tRump is on trial--what a great day! Hope everyone else is doing well!

So, clearly lastlib has the extra $$ to pay up into MVD's latest PayScam! :-)
DU-folk would do well to read the book When Helping Hurts. They wouldn't, because it has a very Evangelical Christian perspective, advocates treating persons in need as individuals, not classes, and points out that just throwing $$ at persons in need is likely to harm such persons and fails to work out the way for each needy person to work their way (education? better job? better habits? ... each person's problem causes are unique) through their situation. The other side of the coin, the person giving aid, is harmed too when they just throw $$ at a problem, by feeling good when they may have caused harm, and not worked with the needy person as having worth of their own. Need I point out that one-size-fits-all government social programs cause harm (e.g. dependency) more often than being beneficial? For many/most DU-folk that's heresy.

what jumped out at me was that a DUmmie has enough income to pay off a 6 year loan in 9 months, but got a loan to buy a car.
SAID DUummie could have saved for a mere 9 months, then paid cash for a car and probably got a discount in addition to paying ZERO in interest.
