Even though this came out last year, I'm still listening to it because it's just so good....

Solve a man's problem with violence and help him for a day. Teach a man how to solve his problems with violence, help him for a lifetime - Belkar Bitterleaf

If racist dog whistles are meant to be only heard by racists, then it is quite interesting how progressives seem to be the only people who can hear them. - Leonydus Johnson

Charted at #14 in 1931, in spite of being banned from radio play due to the content of the lyrics.

I chose the above link for the sound quality, but be forewarned there is some light nudity content.

The Three Girlfriends (A.K.A. The Three Waring Girls) who provided the vocal refrain made an appearance in Paul Whiteman's "King of Jazz" (1930), along with a very young Bing Crosby and the other two members of the Rhythm Boys:

http://youtu.be/nlqT_BoLhj4?t=33m52s

Fred Waring was fiercely protective of the The Three Girlfriends (he claimed they belonged only to him), so I am curious what kind of deal was struck to allow them to appear in this motion picture.

There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

A very hot recording of the torch song "Little White Lies" by Leut. Noble Sissle, followed by a shortened version of "Happy Feet".

Ozzie Nelson's orchestra!
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

Ozzie Nelson's orchestra!

If it weren't for his orchestra, we probably wouldn't even know about Mr. Nelson.  :-)  I think he was studying for some other field before he started his band.

I really like Jack Smith's stuff.  It's got a "Watching-a-vintage-german-expressionist-horror-film-at-a-deranged-carnival-sideshow-booth" quality to it.

A nice uptempo take on this tune by Nat Shilkret.

Nat even managed to sneak in a few bars of "Old Man River" around the 2:20 mark as well.

Ella Fitzgerald's first record ever.  I picked this one up recently in E- condition for less than a buck at a flea market, in my quest to out-flea market the flea marketing primitives.

I've been feeling rather maudlin given the shooting here. It's very trite to say "this never happens here", but it really doesn't. We talk to each other at the store, whether we know each other or not. Most of us know families or friens affected one way or another. Another gun free zone becomes a shooting gallery. Thank God we have a sheriff who doesn't believe more gun control is the answer. None of the families have spoken of the need for more gun control. Some have said they wish their child/parent/cousin, etc. had been armed because there wouldn't have been this carnage. Not one of the people rabid about gun control (I swear I want to shoot Shannon Watts in the foot and punch her in the mouth) has explained how they're going to get the guns away from criminals. I SO want to see her & every other mamby pamby whiner walk their asses to inner city Detroit, to areas where gang members hang out & then go door to door and ask for their guns. Criminals don't care about laws. It isn't like running a red light. Until they're willing to do that then they should just STFU. Sorry for the rant on a music thread.

Anyway, I've been listening to this a lot lately

"If God built me a ladder to heaven, I would climb it and elbow drop the world."
Mick Foley

"I am a very good shot. I have hunted for every kind of animal. But I would never kill an animal during mating season."
Hedy Lamarr

"I'm just like any modern woman trying to have it all. Loving husband, a family. It's just, I wish I had more time to seek out the dark forces and join their hellish crusade."
Morticia Addams

One of my favorite renditions of the "Dinah" standard, and perfect for a Saturday morning.  This tune just shuffles along, without any cares.

Seagull has always been one of my favorite songs but when they played it in the credits to Friday Night Lights -- it killed me. Loved that movie, watch it often
