Jacksonville State 0, Florida 23, allegedly final.

We'll see what the guy in the cubicle decides.

He finally decided it was final.

Minnesota 0, Nebraska 10, two-thirds of the way through the first quarter.

Ohio State and Wisconsin can't seem to get anything going.

Southern California is ranked 18th, UCLA 17th, so yes, that's right.

But all the conventional wisdom I read from the sports pundidiots this week favored Southern California.

Yes USC was the favorite in that respect but purely on tradition and the history of USC winning 12 of the last 13 years. UCLA got a new no nonsense HC and has been rolling this year though.

Well now, you know there's so many "Mississippi"s one gets confused.

<<from a one-college state, remember.

No sir. Ole Miss is the nickname for THE University of Mississippi, founded in 1848. The Flagship like THE University of Nebraska, Georgia, Alabama, etc. That farming school was a land-grant school.

For the mutts:

....and I know I have a certain person seething.  :stirpot:
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

<<from a one-college state, remember.

Ole Miss was first, but the state reps got together and said "Well we screwed up.  Let's try again."  Miss. State turned out to be the correct answer.

I wonder what's wrong with Nebraska.

Minnesota 0, Nebraska 10, one-third of the way through the second quarter.

Even though Minnesota's one of the very few teams that has a winning record against Nebraska, usually they're push-overs.

Nebraska 84, Minnesota 13, in 1984, I think.

The game that drew a lot of criticism from Nebraska-haters, but hey, the game was up there in Minnesota, and we could take only a limited number of players, all of whom played.  Near the end, it was suggested Osborne send in the water-boys to get some football under their belts.
