My beloved D-backs have the worst record in the Cactus League right now.

I know it's just Spring Training, but this doesn't bode well for us.  :lmao:

Still, I intend to have a blast on Monday. They are still my D-backs, sucking or not.

They've been around 11 years. I've called boyfriends of a couple months my beloved. But then I usually ditch their sorry asses pretty fast.

a blink of an eye, in the broad view of things.  the dodgers have been around since the beginning of baseball.

so, please, don't burden me with your argument about "tradition".

SI.com has the Mets winning the NL East, then beating the Dodgers in the DS, then beating the Cubs in the NLCS, then beating the Angels in the WS.

Talk about jinxes! :banghead:

Then, add in the jinx that is Gary Sheffield, who is Dwight Gooden's nephew, and things really get interesting.  But, the Mets added a right-handed power bat for the middle of the lineup.  Even at 40, Sheffield is an imposing presence at the plate.  Either Ryan Church is going to ride some pine, or Marlon Anderson's days with the Mets are over.  If the latter is the case, expect Anderson to find his way to Milwaulkee.  Why?  Willie Randolph is the bench coach there, and Anderson likes Randolph a lot.

Does anyone know if they fixed the stupid rule which is that the Wild Card team cannot play a team in their own division in the first round of the playoffs?

No, I don't know.  I had heard that they did, but it's just hersay.

Ya think that Brett Myers and Brian McCann can get jobs launching satellites with NASA?  McCann absolutely crushed that pitch.  Hell, Myers gave up two more shots, then two doubles that should have gone out of CBP.  The one in the fourth may have actually gone out; it just came back in quick.

I'm stoked this morning. Can't wait to spend my furlough day at the ballpark--hot dog, beer, and some good old fashioned baseball. Go D-backs!

I feel like a whole person again. Thank you, baseball season. :-)

They have one more than the cubs in the last 100 years so what difference does that make...They have one more than the dodgers in the last 11 years too don't they???anyway...I think it will come down to the cubs and the dodgers again...THis year I thin Cubs win!!!
Fighting to oust all congressional incumbents...after all aren't they the ones responsible for this whole mess.

Back from the game. Have I mentioned how much I've missed baseball lately?  :lmao:

Bats were on fire on both sides...5 home runs for the D-backs, 3 for Rockies.

Webb didn't look great. We knew our pitching was going to be iffy but Webb's performance kind of disappointed.

The "new" guy, Felipe Lopez, hit two HR's. He was great. Why did the Nationals drop him?

I'm a happy girl overall.
