GRRRMPH SHIT!

We moved out here to the country partly in order to lower our expenses and get caught up.

Guess what happened - I just had my car repossessed about 15 - 20 minutes ago
.

1. Shit! Do you have another mode of transportation?

So sorry.

2. In a word

NO

We just made a small payment ($50- its what we had) and Melodie told them at the bank that we would have $400 Friday. We were going to be all caught up in a couple of months.

Haven't been able to pay for our Blue Cross health insurance at all

Our move out here was a nightmare because we both got sick and had to keep the truck for extra days.

Its just been one thing after another, but we are finally in a situation where we can hope to get caught up and then this.

5. I talked to the loan officer

and it doesn't look good.

At first she was saying that we would have to pay off the loan + repo charges w/in 14 days. That's over $9300.

Even if we could get that together by then, we are stuck out here in the country w/out transportation to work.

Shit, shit, shit!

Wow!  How sick must you be to not be able to return a truck?!  Losers.  They are all, losers.

How long until we hear a sob story about how it isn't its fault?

This makes me very very happy.  If you don't have a pot to piss in, you surely don't move and keep a vehicle worth close to 10K, but that's how a responsible person would think.

Haven't been able to pay our health care insurance premiums...

Hmmm, how is that Affordable Care Act working for you?

Those votes for the muslim just continue paying dividends!

Let's hope they starve, but most likely Wishadoo! will come to the rescue.

Should have returned it and looked elsewhere. Happened to me. I worked a deal for a Jetta for 500 down. Something got screwed up somewhere along the line and I called them asking where my bill was. After about a month of wrangling they said they could work the deal for 1000 down instead. I just gave them back the car and got something else from another dealer. It sucks but it beats having to deal with a repo.

Just spoke for a 1992 Dodge Dakota club cab for the son with less than a 100 thousand actual miles, never wrecked, one owner, with a right fresh paint job, 318 V8, automatic, good rubber and Excaliber camper shell.....$500.

Just about exactly like this one, color scheme and all.

13. What pisses me off even more is that

we just had the car inspected and an oil change...at least we have not paid them the $400 we had planned to pay today. The loan officer talked with a VP and the CEO who determined that we would need to pay it off in order to get it back.

So today we are going to look for other vehicles.

The Good news is that we never got the windshield replaced after getting smashed by a golf ball in the spring.

This is a DUmmie so you KNOW they made an insurance claim and got some money.  They didn't use the money to buy a windshield or pay for the car ... nope, they spent it on booze and drugs.

And told other DUmmies they bought poor people some food or fuel to boost their DUmp cred.

  The CEO seriously? If the CEO was involved in ANY way with determining they would not be returning the car, then this was a buy here pay here place that as someone else said had a GPS on the damn thing and probably have already replace the windshield, detailed the nasty thing to make it presentable and have it back out on the lot for sale. If it was a legitimate larger dealer it's highly doubtful the CEO of the company would concern himself with the defaulted loan of a repossessed vehicle. That is what his collections staff and their management are there for and have the authority to address and make the final decision about--they don't need the top of the company's seal of approval to do it since they are tasked with the job and authority to make those decisions. But I'm sure the 'VP' was pulling out all the stops to make you go away.

Good luck getting financing with that repo on your credit report.

Maybe Melodie has something she can offer as a means of income, though at 25 cents per encounter, it may take a while.

She is supposed to talk to the CEO and call me back. One of the colleges that Melodie adjuncts for takes out their own retirement contribution and uses Met Life. Since Melodie is leaving that employment, she is going to withdraw that, which could have us caught up, but it won't be for a few weeks.

Apparently it's SO doesn't adjunct as a professor for any sort of finance or economic's related courses. My money is on women's studies or humanities or social 'sciences' of some kind.  :thatsright:

Unless of course she's one of those carrying around a dead weight she should have dropped years ago...

I only buy what I can afford? I'm funny that way. Of course I can fix most anything so I never had a new car, ever! I do have a truck, a conversion van, a car, a motorcycle and a 4 wheeler all in prime working order and paid for. Oh and a company vehicle so I never have to worry about getting where I need or want to go.

KC

I just returned from a visit to the OP and noticed a few things:

1. DUmmy ashling has an ACA avatar but no health insurance

2. Keeping the truck a couple of extra days is simply BS

3. They have no transportation to get to work. Also, they have no work apparently because nothing is being said about getting fired for not showing up.

4. Assuming that the lovely and graceous Melodie has a retirement plan with MET-Life, assume it is a 501B or 401K type of arrangement that you get hit hard by Uncle Sam if your are not 59 yrs old. If you are 59+, you are stupid to use that money for a car.

5. What about getting into town for food and supplies?

Out in the boondocks with no car=not good.
Thank God for the wisedom of Crazy Blanche

7. Finally, the most disturbing issue in this thread is the absolute lack of DUmmy compassion in the form of sending out vibes.

Good to see that the evil 1% aren't the only ones paying 50% in taxes.  Way for the primitive to stick it to the man!

One question... did the dummie not talk to the bank before this? Banks really do not want to repo cars. I suspect the dummie is waaay more than a couple of payments late and has made no effort to work with the bank.  Probably pissed them off.

Sucks to be you dummie. How is that obumbles economy working out for you now?

Might I suggest a bicycle? Ya all seem to believe in global warming climate change climate disruption so do your freaking part!!!

I hope the bank can re-sell the car for what the DUmmy owes on it.  Otherwise, they're going to be in for a surprise.

I've never had a car repo'ed Chris so I have no knowledge of what I am about to ask... if the bank gets less than owed does the dummie still owe that? If so that would be damned funny!!!!!

Yes.  Say this person has paid $2,500 into the $10,000 price of the car and the car sells for $4k, they are on the hook for the other $3,500 plus whatever fees and costs the bank and/or auction company decide to include.

Thanks for the info, Chris!  I suspected that was the case, just wasn't sure if it worked that way for car loans.  If that happens expect the dummie to be back on DU complaining about the evil, greedy banks screwing it over.
