Post by: franksolich on July 11, 2017, 07:11:32 PM
Okay, so the computer about an hour ago underwent a system update.

Paint no longer works the way it's supposed to.

Why????????????????????????????

Damn it, nobody visits this forum any more.

Since "Paint" had crashed, I uninstalled.

And downloaded Microsoft's "Fresh Paint."

Which damn it, doesn't seem to work either.

I'll do my best but not sure if I can help...  most ppl have avoided win8 or 10 including me so experience level is low.
Do you have any sort of error to work with that you can share?

That happened to me once.

I think I just reinstalled it -- you can go to Bing and look for Reinstall Paint.

Okay, I bite.

Where the Hell is the "control panel"?

I open the thing on the lower left-hand corner of the screen and get Most Used, Suggested, Adobe Revel, Alarms & Clock, Amazon, &c.  I scroll all the way down the alphabet and see nothing denoting "control panel."

I use the "search" function which gets me to a control panel.....which shows no, absolutely no, "install-reinstall."

I would post a screen capture of what the screen looks like, but alas no longer having Paint in this computer, can't do this.

"Properties" by right-clicking operating system doesn't show what version of Windows I have either.

what version of Windows?

That's what I'm trying to find out; I figured it'd be useful information.

But where oh where does one find the version?  Right-clicking the hard drive doesn't tell me anything useful.

Belarc Advisor is a free program https://www.belarc.com/products_belarc_advisor

Belarc Advisor analyzes software, hardware, and OS components, as well as security configurations, and can tell you exactly where the problems are, if any, on your computer. The program was easy to install and does not come bundled with any additional software.

It will tell you what Windows you're running and a lot of other stuff.

Sounds like @$%#& win 10. I HATE WIN 10 !!!
Search for "windows version".
If it is Win 10, When you find "control Panel" look for "Programs and Features". There you have uninstall programs.
