Top 10 cities that love (and hate) Trump
« on: December 21, 2016, 09:28:21 PM »
The real estate website Trulia posted a list of the most and least Trump-friendly metropolitan areas in the United States.

Unsurprisingly, the regions with the most Trump voters are concentrated in the South and Midwest. Known as ‘The Bargain Belt,’ they had the most affordable housing, but not for much longer. Republicans have a renewed interest in buying a home and are expected to be purchasing in higher concentrations than Democrats who live on the coast. Investors are predicting a housing boom in those areas through 2018.

Most pro-Trump metropolitan areas:

Knoxville, Tennessee; voted 66 percent for Trump.
Greenville, South Carolina; voted 64 percent for Trump
Tulsa, Oklahoma; voted 64 percent for Trump
Birmingham-Hoover; Alabama, voted 60 percent for Trump.
Wichita, Kansas; voted 59 percent for Trump.
Cape Coral-Fort Myers, Florida; voted 59 percent for Trump.
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; voted 59 percent for Trump.
Fort Worth, Texas; voted 58 percent for Trump.
Jacksonville, Florida; voted 57 percent for Trump.
Winston-Salem, North Carolina; voted 57 percent for Trump.

The cities that were the most hostile to Trump and his supporters, on the other hand, are mostly concentrated on the coasts, especially in California and Washington D.C.  They’re the most expensive areas of the country. However, it’s possible that if Democrats are less enthusiastic to buy, they could cause the housing market to decline slightly in the next year or two.

Most anti-Trump metropolitan areas:

San Francisco, California; voted 14 percent for Trump.
Oakland, California; voted 20 percent for Trump.
San Jose, California; voted 22 percent for Trump.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; voted 22 percent for Trump.
Los Angeles, California; voted 23 percent for Trump.
Seattle, Washington; voted 25 percent for Trump.
El Paso, Texas; voted 26 percent for Trump.
Washington, D.C.; voted 27 percent for Trump.
Silver Spring, Maryland; voted 27 percent for Trump.
Madison, Wisconsin; voted 27 percent for Trump.

It looks like it may be a buyers market for revived Republicans in red states.
