Dave Chappelle has responded to the storm of controversy surrounding his Netflix special The Closer in a 5-minute clip of a live set posted Monday to his Instagram. In it, the comedian, who’s currently in the middle of a national tour, directly addressed the transgender community, saying he would be “more than willing to give you an audience, but you will not summon me. I am not bending to anybody’s demands.” Over the audience’s cheers, he listed off “conditions” for such a meeting to take place, chuckling. “First of all, you cannot come if you have not watched my special from beginning to end. You must come to a place of my choosing, at a time of my choosing, and thirdly, you must admit that Hannah Gadsby is not funny.”

Chappelle also took the opportunity to complain “about corporate interests, and what I can say and what I cannot say” into a microphone, to uproarious applause. He said that, since the backlash, “not a film company, not a movie studio, not a film festival, nobody will touch” an upcoming documentary about his summer 2020 comedy tour. “Thank god for Ted Sarandos and Netflix,” the comedian added. He announced that he would instead be self-releasing the untitled film in 10 cities. “You can see what they’re trying to obstruct you from seeing,” Chappelle said. “And you can judge for yourself. But you cannot have this conversation, and exclude my voice from it. That is only fair.”

One thing that these transgender activists will NEVER answer is how many there are.  Likely there aren't even a million in a country of our size, and probably less.

But per usual, the cause of defending the minute' fraction of society is more important than anything.  Because they're down with the struggle.

You're saying that the COMEDIAN Dave Chappelle is making fun of dudes who attention whore by wearing dresses and make-up out in public?

Where's this "controversy" of which you speak, DUmbshits?

He's a comedian: that means he makes fun of things. In this case, he's poking fun at a group of attention whores. Is the controversy that he's not paying enough attention to the attention whores or something?

It can't possibly be that the attention whores aren't liking the attention they're garnering: they had to understand going in what kind of attention dudes in lipstick and nylons attract when they sashay out in public, right?

     It doesn't matter how many there are, only that there are enough in high places to support them as the current heavyweight champions of the "oppressed." Chappelle is finding out that while blackness is a perennial contender, right now trannies rule the oppression roost. Meanwhile I'd guess that there are fewer than a million actual trannies, and a couple of million more lost souls who pretend to be something other than gay just for the street cred it gives them. Eventually this will all die out and go away.

     Transsexualism is the Lilith Fair of the 2020s.

The scuttlebutt is that tens of Netflix employees walked out. If I were running Netflix, that would have been tens of employees asked to resign and were gladly removed from the payroll.

There's lots of space along the Los Gatos Creek Trail behind the Netflix campus where the canned employees could pitch a blue tarp tent and be within easy walking distance of their favorite Starchucks in downtown Los Gatos or Campbell. Or maybe the Starchucks and Subway near the Bascom entrance to SR-85. There aren't too many bums infesting the Los Gatos Creek Trail, yet.

Sadly, I think Netflix manglement at least partly caved to the noisy activists.

Coming up with those numbers and keeping track of them would show the people who change their mind, often after surgeries and hormone therapies have done their damage.  Young people in particular are checking boxes and answering polls because it's the current "cool thing".

You can still watch the movie above for free.  I ordered the DVD in case it gets memory-holed.  There is more focus on individual's stories, but IIRC there are some numbers dropped.  Need to re-watch it again.
