I Voted Today...
« on: November 06, 2012, 08:14:34 AM »
...got to the polls 30 minutes before they opened. Sat in line behind about 100 people and by the time the polls opened another 200 were behind me. It took about 10 minutes to get to the front of the line once the polls opened and another 2-3 minutes to actually vote. It kinda of bugged me we (in my area of WI) did not have a straight ticket option but there was a certain satisfaction in filing in the circle next to each GOP name.

One thing I found funny was that the state Senator they tried to recall a year ago in my district ran unopposed this year.

What?!  You mean there weren't any people there trying to prevent you from voting?  That's no fun.

LOL.

Of course I've already heard this morning the NBPP is up to their old tricks in Philly.  Since Holder didn't do anything to them last time they now feel like they have a free pass.

Heh.  We had bbq brisket and beer.

Provided by the candidates across the street.

Well, ok, maybe we didn't have beer but we did have bbq brisket and sausage.  LOL

Great, now we have GOP poll inspectors being thrown out of polling locations in Philly!

Quote
Court-appointed Republican poll inspectors are being forcibly removed from voting stations in some Philadelphia wards and replaced in some cases by Democratic inspectors and even members of the Black Panthers, according to GOP officials.

<snip>

Wonder how much outcry there will be over this?!

Outside of Philly?  Plenty.

Inside of Philly?  I'm guessing not much.

There's a separate thread for that.  GOP yelled holy hell and went to court.  Court orders the inspectors reinstated.  Polling place resisted, sheriff called to enforce.

Voted this morning around 8:30.  There were a few people there, but not many.  I had a bit of trouble finding my polling place.  First, I passed it on a one way street, so I had to circle the block.  Then, I started walking around the church to find the church hall and couldn't find it.  I finally realized that it was actually across the street.

LOL.....think I'll put my vote sticker on a chair and put it in a trash barrel out in front of the house........... :-)

Something strange at the polling place.  A green table and an orange one.  I had to sign in at the orange table with four people working and a long line.   There were seven or eight working at the green table and no one was in line to vote. ???????

My husband and I voted at noon at the local elementary school.

No lines, lots of nice people, had to show photo ID, was double checked by two poll workers, in the book and online, had to sign the book, voted and left.

No black panthers, no confrontation, NO MOONBATS.  It was pleasant.

Left work at noon today, went to vote, and there was NOBODY in line.

I was out of there in less than 5 minutes.

Amazing. I thought the joint would be jumpin', but no way. Oh well. I did my part for the country today.

The county sheriff, while a Dem, is a good joe and he got my vote.

Got to poll at 8:30, stood in line to get photo ID checked in and receive ballot for over 20 min., then waited for a voting station [booth] to open up, then stood in line another 10 min. to record vote in machine.  Hope it was worth the 40-45 min., and Obummer is joining the unemployment line come Jan.  AHHHHH we can only hope  :whistling:

This is beautiful! Jason in New Hampshire has a good suggestion for where to put your "I voted" sticker.
