Those "ice cream cones" look suspiciously like colored mashed potatoes.

It's called "Play-Doh". I'd rather eat colored mashed potatoes (yeah, my infancy was ~45 years ago, and I can still recall the nasty taste)...

this does make sense.  My 89 year old mom is dealing with dementia.  She spends her days mostly in a fog looking at the television without really watching it.  When I or my sister visit she perks up a bit but she still seems hollow.  One of her greatest pleasures these days is to take her to a Baskin Robins to get a small scoop of chocolate ice cream.

Possibly, or shortening cause ice cream melts fast under photo studio lights.  Fun photography fact.
