Colin Kaepernick update: some teams ‘genuinely hate him’

--- Quote ---Kaepernick has not been linked to any teams since entering free agency last week for the first time in his six-year career.

“He can still play at a high level,” an anonymous AFC general manager told Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman. “The problem is three things are happening with him.

“First, some teams genuinely believe that he can’t play. They think he’s shot. I’d put that number around 20 percent.

“Second, some teams fear the backlash from fans after getting him. They think there might be protests or (President) Trump will tweet about the team. I’d say that number is around 10 percent. Then there’s another 10 percent that has a mix of those feelings.

“Third, the rest genuinely hate him and can’t stand what he did [kneeling for the national anthem]. They want nothing to do with him. They won’t move on. They think showing no interest is a form of punishment. ...”

Can't say this makes me sad. What neither Inman nor that annoymorous "AFC general manager" mentioned is that for the last two seasons with the 9ers, Kaepernick has been very poor (the 9ers won 2 games this past season ... one of them without Kaepernick). Whether deteriorating ability or his mind not being in the game, those teams doubting his ability to play are quite justified.

Adam Wood:
I have to think that he must have brought an absolutely poisonous atmosphere to the locker room, and I have little doubt that at least contributed to the 9er's poor season.  I think that most football gurus will agree that, much like flying, in the locker room, "your attitude determines your altitude."  It's certainly not everything in the game, but it can certainly bring a team down pretty badly when there's a bad attitude in there dragging everyone else down, and doubly so when that's coming from the supposed leader of the team.

If that dumbass had bothered to focus his mind more on perfecting his game and less on protesting stupid BS, he probably could have finished out a halfway decent career.  Not anymore.

A Muslim female blacktivist, if the rumors were true.
